Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff were amazing! From the doorman to the bellhop to the waitstaff, we felt cared for and comfortable the entire time! They truly went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay and didn’t have to worry about a thing. It was the very best beginning to our honeymoon that we could have asked for :)

Perfect location for the activities we had planned. The room was small, but adequate. Bed was very comfortable. Loved the counterspace in the bathroom. Employees were so friendly and helpful!

Also the agent must have been new as she gave us incorrect information stating that rooms would not be cleaned every day unless we asked and also stating that the water in the room was only free the first night. The room was cleaned every day (without us asking) and we learned later that the water was actually included.

New ZealandEverything about The Rubens was wonderful, from the minute we arrived and were welcomed by the doorman. The staff are so friendly, kind and helpful, always going the extra mile to make our visit special and memorable. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, serviced everyday. The hotel dining and bar experiences were exceptional, every tiny detail thought about. The highlight of the Rubens is their entire staff, they made us feel like we were the most special guests, service is perfect. We would definitely recommend to our friends and when we revisit London we will be back.

AustraliaI did not like being slugged with a £15 a night bill which I didn’t ask to pay. You had to opt out apparently. The shower was the worst shower in 15 Hôtels that we’ve stayed in in over a month. I had to have a bath to wash my hair and even then the plug didn’t work so I had to be quick. Gotta get those ESG points up and offer less water for the guest to shower I guess.
Lovely place with a great location. Breakfast was nice but very pricey. Lovely staff.

The Rubens is a beautiful hotel which was just around the corner from Buckingham Palace. We took the subway from the airport to Victoria station. The Rubens is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Victoria subway station. Perfect location for touring Buckingham Palace and seeing the Changing of the Guard. The hotel is directly across the street from the Royal Mews, which are the stables for the palace. We saw them working the horses every morning from our room window which was great! We did not try the breakfast, but had a few wonderful dinners in the hotel restaurants. Beautiful rooms! The staff was awesome! Particularly the doormen made the trip extra special. Quite an experience when they would call your cab. Book the Rubens, you won't regret it!

RomaniaWhen we left from the reception they said if we had consumed two drinks (alcohol) from the mini bar. Which we didn't. It was just me and my daughter doing a lot of sightseeing and eating out in the city centre. The gentleman from the reception was very understanding and he didn't charge the drinks but I wouldn' t have expected this. It has never happened to us before in any other hotel.
The staff is really friendly and welcoming. However, we were leaving in the morning and come back in the evening just to enjoy as much as possible tje good weather. In two evenings we found a lady from the cleaning personnel inside the room although it was cleaned already. She mentioned something about cleaning up. The bathroom was very clean but the water was coming out in the hallway if you were using the shower longer.

United KingdomIncorrect information about the bed sizes. We thought we'd booked a room with king size or queen bed but on arrival was a double but we sure stated the above. Reception staff were a bit frosty but when I told them what I'd booked & showed them my paperwork stating room & bed sizes they sorted it out. it was a big birthday & I'd organised a-lot for this special treat. Staff were slow to sort maintenance in our room. TV was temperamental & curtain rail broke. It didn't get sorted in short time we were there. They did organise an amazing small cake for 2 people for my husbands birthday. Their signature cake -it was incredibly tasty.
Central location to Buckingham palace & the london parks. Beautiful old building with a Boutique feel. Fabulous restaurant & food. Most of the staff were very Friendly.
