Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomYou couldn’t park outside the lodges. So you park in the car park at the golf club which is opposite the lodges. Then you can use a buggy to bring your stuff over. Luckily it was dry but if it was raining that would be a pain!
Fantastic place. We stayed as 2 family’s for our sons wedding at Bredenbury court Barnes. We had a lovely time and jacuzzi was a bonus too.

The location was nice and quiet in a beautiful part of the countryside with easy access to Worcester

United KingdomThe beds were uncomfortable we slept terribly not sure if it’s because we have a very comfy bed at home, but the mattresses are not great we only stayed 2 nights so it didn’t spoil our trip but would recommend new mattresses or mattress toppers to make them more comfortable, also there were so many flies when we arrived they seemed to have been in there a while as they were slowly giving up! We managed to get rid of most of them but a little annoying.
We loved the surroundings, the lodge was lovely, perfect for what we wanted to have a couple of days away.

United KingdomThe only thing we didn’t like was the main bedroom bed it was a little uncomfortable and every time you turned around/over you could feel the springs. It would be good if the mattress was thicker or a hard base Devan bed.
Everything was amazing no faults what so ever and really recommend the Sapey Gold & Country Club, very peaceful, clean, spacious, hot tub was huge. Would come back again!😁

United KingdomThe golf club restaurant was closed in the evenings and we could not get any response from the Baiting House pub up the road. However, there are many good restaurants in Bromyard about 6 miles away. We could not park by the lodge, even to unload the car, and had to use the golf club car park. They did offer us the use of a buggy if needed.
Peaceful location for a short break. The lodge was clean and well equipped and as described. The hot tub was a key reason for booking and it didn't disappoint, very clean having been refilled before our arrival.

Lovely cabin with great facilities, bright, warm and clean, with plenty of space. We would absolutely stay here again it was welcoming and relaxing. My husband used the golf simulator as the course was very wet but great.

We loved that it had everything to our needs. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn’t working and they tried their best to get it to work. However they offered us another night stay or a lunch/dinner complimentary due to the hot tub issue. Either way we were very pleased with James and how much effort he made to accommodate us and our needs.

United KingdomIt’s quite hard to find the place in the dark albeit having instructions. Sometimes the bathroom would have a weird smell to it which was unpleasant but you just need to air it out and flush the loo, and all will be well. The staff needs to be more attentive to customers especially in a place where you don’t get service. I contacted them multiple time regarding the shower leaking, help with the hot tub and help with the wifi and absolutely zero answer from them during my stay. Only received a generic message after my stay asking for my deposit.
The property itself is absolutely lovely- very cosy inside and I stayed in the Porth/ cabin which overlooked the golf course and honestly so beautiful.

United KingdomTeabags, salt and pepper Lights on pathway towards lodges Clearly state online that hot tubs are private but can be seen by neighbouring lodges, especially the Saunton lodge! Would book again at Porthcawl, loved it.
Location and Privacy- There are 4 lodges in total with 3 available to book, Saunton and Carnoustie are 3 bedrooms and Porthcawl has 2 bedrooms. We stayed in Porthcawl as a family of 4. Glad we got Porthcawl as the view is spectacular and better than what Saunton and Carnoustie have to offer. You'd see why the views in Porthcawl are better by looking at the top view on Google maps. Saunton is behind Porthcawl and they don't have much views and lack privacy too as our lodge is right in front of there's and behind them are bushes. Their hot tub is in full view from our bedroom window so I'd never book Saunton! Carnoustie and Porthcawl hot tubs are a little more private as they are not placed closely and directly outside anyone's window, but it is still in view and not totally private. Carnoustie hot tub doesn't boast the same beautiful view as Porthcawl though hence why Porthcawl is the best location. Sapey say online that the hot tubs are private so was a little disappointed at first as we can still be seen from neighbouring lodges, and anyone walking down the path towards their lodge have full view of us. Since we went in January the days are short so the majority of time we spent in the tub was night and the outside light was dim so it was private enough and we were comfortable and that's what mattered to us, so they don't lose any stars on that. I know it wouldn't have been the same level of comfort in the summer months. We didn't visit the restaurant, we prepared home cooked meals which we took with us. There isn't much to do around the area so the kids (8 and 7) did get a little bored at times but I love being in the middle of nowhere so I'm not complaining. Would be nice to have some lights on the path towards the lodges as everyone was using their phone torches while walking back and forth. Lodge condition- The Porthcawl lodge exceeded my expectations.

United KingdomThe lodge could do with having vinyl flooring in the hall corridor rather than a cream carpet! My teens played golf (in the rain) and muddy spiked shoes and a cream carpet were difficult! Also when you are coming in from hot tub - there is a massive pile of shoes as no one wants to bring water onto the carpet! A lockable store outside for golf clubs would have been handy as the only place we had to store them was the master closet! We improvised- no cream carpet in hallway would have meant less nagging of them!
Great location and only a few lodges so quite quiet.
