How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was nothing I didn’t like. It was a lovely stay.
Arrival instructions were really clear and easy. It was more spacious than it looked in the photos. The decor was lovely and everything just felt high quality. It’s was peaceful despite being handy for everything. There was a really good welcome pack so that we didn’t have to worry about rushing straight out to find a supermarket. The owners were really responsive, helpful and friendly. Smoke alarms had a low battery bleep but they were out to us in 20 minutes to sort it.

That we only stayed one night! Could definitely have stayed longer...
Gorgeous house, more spacious than expected and just so comfortable and homely. All the little extra touches were just lovely too. Comfy beds, great pillows and squishy duvets. Spotlessly clean too.

The house is very welcoming, comfortable and cosy. Very relaxing
The location is fabulous! 2 minute walk from the marina, beside some of the nicest little cafes and restaurants also.

We had a fabulous time! Nothing to fault the property.
Modern, spotless property. The owner has created a home away from home. The house is very cozy and so close to shops and restaurants- just a short walk. Pauline is an amazing host and provides you with everything you need for an amazing experience 👍🏻

There is nothing I didn't like only that we had to go home.
The welcome that we felt when we arrived and read the welcome pack. Lovely touches such as milk, water, butter, jam in fridge. Costa coffee maker with pods. Brioche and tayto for the kids. I really felt so welcomed 😌 wish we could have stayed longer. Location excellent stone through from centre.

We booked this property as we had a wedding at the nearby Clandeyboy Lodge Hotel and it was only about a 6/7 minute drive. We arrived at the property and had a look around and couldn't get over how clean and spacious it was. Everything was immaculate and the heat was on so very cosy could've just stay there instead of going to Wedding Reception. There were tea and coffee facilities and a fully functional kitchen to cater for everything you may need and the host had left us milk, a bottle of wine, crisps some biscuits and crossaints couldn't have ask for more. Beautiful clean fresh bedlinen and towels and plenty of hot water for showering the next morning. If we find ourselves in the area again for any reason and need to stay this is the 1st place we will try without a doubt 5 🌟 accommodation. Well done to the owner/s

Couldn't source any free-to-air channels on TV ; parking facilities a bit restricted ( partially by vehicles from next door !).

Located just one street back from seafront, yet five minutes walk from the main centre, this gem is tucked away in a lovely quiet spot. Beautifully appointed with great taste, spotlessly clean, everything perfectly in order and exceeding expectations. Welcome pack was really welcome to us as we arrived later than planned after delays on way. Host was engaging and warm from start to finish. Cannot recommend highly enough. Congratulations and thank you for a fantastic stay.
