Just think the breakfast could be improved. The bacon was very salty and the bread tasted a bit like cardboard. However maybe that’s how most people like it.

Very convenient for access to town. Very good customer service. Room very good and very clean.

    There was nothing to dislike.

Friendly staff, great selection at breakfast, clean rooms and a comfy bed. It has its own car park which is a bonus but, its very tight. I was nervous but managed it, just keep wing mirrors in and approach entrance as they tell you. Great base for exploring the area. Room 23 is away from the main building but perfectly safe and very quiet. You just hear the gates being opened and closed, morning and night. Caters well for gluten free visitors.

Room not serviced so after 2nd night felt sink etc. needed clean, shower gel empty had to use liquid hand soap. We bought fresh milk for drinks as there was a fridge.

Friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast, fridge in room, good location. Excellent room and comfy beds. On site parking - but make sure to watch the video!

    Nothing it was all great.

The room was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The hotel was in a great location with easy access to everything. The breakfast was first class. Was great to be able to park at hotel and that an electric charging unit was available. The staff were all very friendly and helped with any questions we asked. The lady on reception was very welcoming and efficient.

Friendly, helpful staff. Option of packed lunch instead of breakfast was excellent. Very narrow entrance to car park needs care on entry/exit and manoeuvring but shouldn't be a problem to anyone that has passed a driving test. Comfortable room overlooking the main street but very quiet. Would book again.

Tight parking, if you have a large car, but you are made aware of this at time of booking.

Lovely hotel stopped enroute to ferry, friendly, welcoming staff, room was spacious and looked newly done. Freshly cooked breakfast.

The car parking on site is a challenge if you don't or can't follow the instructions. The road with the entrance to the car park is pretty busy and you feel under pressure if you're positioning yourself to enter the 'tunnel' access while cars are waiting to get past. (We did try but this put us off and we gave up.) The road is also quite narrow with metal posts on the pavements, limiting your room to manoeuvre, which is essential before attempting to drive through the narrow entrance. Also, quite often, cars park right across the car park entrance/exit while drivers pop into the Co-op opposite. If you were in the tunnel and a car came and blocked your exit, you'd be stuck until they moved, because it's impossible to open the driver's door once in the 'tunnel'. We opted to park in the nearby public car park for £2.50/day (long stay). On the plus side, there's a useful lay-by at the front entrance to the hotel, where you can park free for about 20 mins while loading or unloading luggage, which can left in the hotel's reception area while you go and park or fetch the car. The public car park is about 5 mins walk. If you buy a long stay parking ticket after 6pm, it will last all of the following day and it is valid in all of Carmarthen's long stay car parks, so you can come and go as you please.

An old listed building which has been beautifully decorated - everything looked smart and clean. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and we had a fridge in our room which was useful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I had a very nice chat with the owner. It seems to me to be a well-run family hotel and we enjoyed our stay. We had asked for a walk-in shower as I can't get in and out of a bath. We were given a room opening into the courtyard car park which had a wet room. There is a short ramp up to the room's outside door - it can't be made longer because would take away a car parking space. This means it's a bit steeper than ideal. You enter the outer door (like a front door), then turn right through the bedroom door. I'm not sure how tricky this would be for a wheelchair user - I think they would need help with the ramp and the doors. Once inside, it's fine. However, to get to the breakfast room in the main building involves going up and down some steps - there may be another route in which I haven't seen. We hadn't been to Carmarthen before (we were visiting someone who lives in the area) and enjoyed a couple of very nice restaurants in the town and we did a bit of shopping as well as using it as a base. The nearest beach (I think) at Llansteffan is only about 20 mins drive away.

The only complaint is the parking entrance from the rear of the hotel on King Street. While the hotel gave clear directions and a YouTube link, my experience didn’t go according to plan. In my opinion there should be instructions to pull the side mirrors in to create additional space for navigating through the narrow entrance. I didn’t know or realize that need resulting in my clipping the passenger mirror against the left hand wall. Cover flew off and mirror displaced. I scratched not dented the rear passenger door quite badly. A very disappointing start to our stay and my pride hurt!

The room was large, modern, clean and very comfortable. Breakfasts made to order from a wide selection, nicely prepared, served and delicious! Friendly staff and welcoming.

Was unable to park at property, due to our van being to big and awkward to fit through tunnel to car park, that's not the hotels fault it is what it is. Bed mattress was to hard for us, made our backs ache.

Outstanding Breakfast, nice large room, great bathroom, excellent location.

Some noise from cars and surrounding buildings. A little damp ingress in corners of the room that was well hidden, but will no doubt reemerge. They seemed in a hurry to get me out of the breakfast room!

Decent room - level entrance from car park - would be good for those with poor mobility - its own entrance. Breakfast adequate. Great Indian called Ginger across the street.
