How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Small towels … sometimes tricky with parking and shuffling but seemed to work well . The downstairs room we had was a basement room with no view and little natural light , however we could see that there were plenty of alternatives.
Clean room … very much like a good premier inn … large TV … jacuzzi bath …well located for our visit .. it was important that parking around back as very little street parking. Good breakfast

I would have liked more cartons of milk - I like my brews! Extra hand towels would be good too.
The room had plenty of space and looked great! The breakfast experience was excellent, lovely staff, quality food, nicely cooked. Teapots! Great as many cups of tea as we liked! Particularly liked the room we were allocated as it had a bay window which made it very light.

The parking was a little tight, but included, so not complaining. The building is obviously several properties linked to make the hotel, so stairs steeper than purpose built hotels and layout quirky but given value of room......
The staff couldn't have been friendlier, or more helpful. Everything was clean, the shower was great, and breakfast was amazing using local proper farm produce. Nothing was too much trouble and many extra things had been thought of. I was able to book a single room, at an appropriately lower price, which is becoming increasingly rare. Definitely recommend.

Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast very good using local produce and plenty of choice. Location very good for getting around the Yorkshire dales. Plus for us "oldies" room on the ground floor. Will be staying again when next in Yorkshire

Really can't think of anything.
Very clean, comfortable room. Ideal for my short stay. All staff were very friendly. Beautiful area close to restaurants and shopping. 30 minutes to Leeds Airport.

A lovely warm family-run hotel. The staff were brilliant, always on hand with a smile. Room was cosy and very clean. Breakfast excellent, with good quality bacon and sausage obviously from the local butcher as opposed to a supermarket, nice range of extras (fresh orange juice, yoghurt, etc). Overall a lovely place to stay, will definitely stay again and recommend to friends 🙂

The room was a little cramped and small would have just like a little more space.
This was a great location for us visiting family. Also it’s so close to Saltaire which is a lovely place to visit.

It's a bit steep down to Saltaire.

The bar area is very functional. It could be enhanced by some comfortable seating.
We received a very warm welcome at the hotel. The staff were all very helpful. It's fairly basic but clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with ensuite facilities. An excellent location for visiting Saltaire and the Salt Mill, which is within walking distance. Good freshly cooked breakfasts!

Reception very friendly, couldn't do enough. Double room quite small but spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly need including iron and ironing board. Excellent wifi. Very good breakfast a relaxed mix of help yourself together with individually cooked breakfast. I ordered an omelette with some bacon. It was quite simply the best omelette I have ever been served but a warning it was huge!!
