How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Friendly, clean, great breakfast. 15/20 min walk to the tower. Fab walk in shower. Mark and Rebecca very approachable. Would recommend.

The hotel is brilliant, great value for money very nice/friendly owners. Breakfast was incredible (I had a cooked breakfast), they give a little breakfast form to fill out so can choose whatever at your leisure and drop it at desk and it can be prepped for you in the morning. They have a lovely seating area aswell and owners were great local guides for recommending where to eat, etc. Room itself was clean and spacious. It is a B&B so no activities in the hotel itself but it is a couple mins from a tram stop where you can get to Blackpool centre quite quickly. In summery they were very kind and accommodating, breakfast is amazing and it's in a great location and the price is very reasonable. Great stop, thank you.

Was a fabulous place, great size room, owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. Lovely log fire and a couple of wines in the bar at the end of a busy day. Gorgeous cooked breakfast. Would definitely go back.

Such a friendly and welcoming guest house. Very comfortable and clean bedrooms. And close to tram or promenade for easy access to Blackpool or Fleetwood.

Location was off the beaten track but on great links to the amusements, private parking was a bonus. The room was warm and comfortable with extras like hair straighteners, fridge and telly.

It was unfortunate that we booked to stay for 1 night when there was a horrendous storm. The window in our room had a draught which was exacerbated by the wind. My husband told our host Mark, then it seemed to be fixed!
We liked the decor, the comfortable beds, the delicious breakfast and the great hosts.

Fantastic stay! Made to feel welcome from start to finish. We came to Blackpool with our two boys 9 & 12 , we had the family’s suite on the top floor which was perfect! Very clean ,warm & cosy . Tea/ coffee facilities, fridge, hairdryer/ straightener & towels provided. Breakfast was also included which was excellent too! Thanks for a great stay 😊

The location just near the tram stop was brilliant. Also having a car park was a blessing. The owners were very friendly and had great local knowledge and the breakfast was very tasty.

Everything was stunning, amazing hosts, very clean, cleanest hotel I've been in, in Blackpool and I go 3 or 4 times a year and go yo different ones to see if I can find the one hotel that flows the others away and I've found in. My kids also loved how homely and kind the hosts was

The room was very clean and very comfortable. Room had everything you could need, kettle, coffee & tea things, hair dryer and even straighteners! Iron and ironing board. Very friendly and helpful hosts- recommended best tram deal, told us a bout the Christmas market and lights that we would probably have missed! Free parking, perfect location - tram stop just a short walk away. Delicious breakfast, great choice and piping hot! Perfect! Loved the Christmas decorations, tree and warm fire in the lounge after a chilly walk on the front! Very relaxing. Child friendly too. Would highly recommend and we would love to stay again. Thank you 😊

Great value for money. Our room was spotless and had all the facilities you could need. Breakfast was lovely. The staff were also lovely, helpful and really attentive - especially appreciated the help when our car wouldn't start on the morning of depature! In a quieter end of Blackpool so great for families, just a short tram ride or 30 min walk to the Tower.

Mark and Rebecca are exceptional hosts, and a pleasure to spend time with. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are extremely helpful. The B&B is spotlessly clean, as was our room and en suite. Everything we needed was there including off road parking and the bar, which was very handy! Breakfast was 10 out of 10. This is the second time we have stayed at The Beaucliffe, and we will definitely be back. Thank you both for a wonderful stay. Heather and Graham x
