Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe low ceilings are easily forgotten and being 5ft 10ins meant I kept banging my hands on the ceiling. Floor to ceiling height is about as high as a standard door 6ft 9ins.
The peace and quiet was wonderful I couldn't remember when I was last able to hear myself think. The owner was absolutely lovely and she is very kind and thoughtful and standing there saying goodbye made me feel like a son to his mother and think to myself you shouldn't both be doing this now at your time of life, you should be here and retired yourselves. Some people are really lovely. X

United KingdomNothing we didn't like, but glad we took our own cafetiere, and we did miss our beanbags to put our feet up at night (we are getting set in our ways and like our home comforts!!)
Very comfortable and compact accommodation (just right for the two of us) set in a peaceful, pretty and secluded garden. Jenny was a most welcoming and informative host - on hand when we needed her. Within walking distance to the village pub for our evening meal!

United KingdomSuch a lovely spot with glorious gardens and the chalet is so cosy and secluded with everything you need. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was better than many I have experienced in this part of Cornwall and Jenny was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Genuinely enjoyed this stay and would like to return with my husband. Also received a 'farewell goodie bag' which was a very kind and thoughtful touch that was much appreciated. Next time I return I hope to hear how Jenny's charity skydive (respect!) this Friday went.

United KingdomThere was nothing we disliked. We felt at home straight away. We both didn't want to leave as we were so isolated from our real life. Great for a mind refresh and to get away chaos of everyday life .
The chalet is in a very private spot not overlooked at all. Excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating. On leaving Jenny gave us a bag for our journey home containing water, apples, cookies and a pack of tissues. Perfect. We both thought this was a very thoughtful touch.

United KingdomI would have liked to have been able to have the opportunity to have swapped the quilt for a thinner one or have the use of a sheet. The quilt was absolutely lovely, thick and sooo comfy but so hot!! If it had been the weather we had enjoyed earlier in the year, and to be fair we were very lucky on the temperature this week being very warm, but we found it hard to sleep because it was too hot. The chalet is well ventilated but even with the bedroom windows open during the night, it was very warm. I think there was actually a portable fan but they are noisy to keep on at night. There is a very nice wooden trunk in the bedroom that was empty , that maybe a thinner quilt could have been in there to use. This is being very pickie and my apologies to Geoff for not mentioning it before we left in person, but I forgot😢 It is just something that might be an idea for the summertime rentals in the future. I know a lot of my friends of a similar age have the same problem with temperatures!! 😂😂
The property was clean, well equipped and although it was self catering, basic towels, tee towels, washing up liquid, hand soap, toilet rolls, were all there to use. There was complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk on welcome. communication before the visit was good , with clear instructions about entering the property. There were things available to keep the property clean for ourselves.. Everyday , Geoff the owner, spoke to us to ensure all was well and was able to give useful information on where to eat locally and places to visit. There were also fresh garden flowers in a vase in the front room. Beautiful 👌

United KingdomWonderful place to stay, great location and Jenny is a really lovely and welcoming host. She made us feel right at home. The chalet has a separate entrance and you get your own garden space which feels very separate from the rest of the main building ( the garden is immaculate ). Perfect stay. One small note: [If you are very very tall (over 6ft6) then you may struggle standing up as ceiling is quite low. Won't be a problem for majority of people :) ]

Jenny was brilliant, always available to answer any questions I had, and even let us check out a little later so I could attend a zoom meeting before leaving. She also gave us a little goody bag for our journey home which was lovely, and the cookies were fantastic!

United KingdomThe Chalet was perfect for my needs, cosy & comfortable, ultra clean and private in a lovely setting. Jenny - the hostess - could not do enough to ensure my stay was pleasant, and was kind enough to even take me for a drive to see the coastline. I used both taxis and the bus service and there was a lovely pub within 5 minutes walking distance who catered for take aways.
