How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Walking directly into the room, it was wet and muddy unfortunately taking in dirty shoes was an issues for us. Not quite enough room to manoeuvre around the bed.
Easy access and check in/out. Fresh fruit and yoghurt would have been nice for breakfast as an alternative .

Our only concern was that we only stayed overnight, but in the future, we intend to book for longer.
Anything you would ever need was available. Cleanliness was second to none. We would certainly return and recommend 👍 to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. Perfect accommodation.

The fridge was quite noisy and, being located so close to the bed, was a little disruptive during the night.
The accommodation is well equipped for such a small space and lovely, clean and welcoming. Being able to checkout early (using the key safe) was particularly useful as I had an early race to get to. The host was extremely helpful and I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble.

Could do with a thicker duvet ,but that's our personal taste and wasn't a problem with blanket provided.

Would be nice if there was somewhere to hang my suit /Wife's Dress etc.

Not easy to eat(breakfast) in room - a bit crammed for space - but we made it work as trays were a provided One improvement… a long mirror near the chest of draws would be useful.
Compact room, nicely decorate that paid attention to detail. Ideal if you want it to be just somewhere to sleep as you your around the area Excellent places of interest information

The Den at Pinchbeck was ideally situated as my husband and I were visiting friends who live only five minutes away from the property. There are plenty of lovely places to visit as well as many pubs and restaurants with varying price ranges, suiting all pockets, situated conveniently. The accommodation was perfect. It was spotlessly clean. The fridge, microwave & toaster were welcome additions to the standard kettle. As well as the usual beverages & milk, our host left bread, butter, jam, marmalade and a good selection of breakfast cereals for us to enjoy a “continental” breakfast. The decor was modern & attractive. The bedding & towels were of a good quality and there was plenty of information regarding the accommodation and local amenities. I commend our host for her attention to detail and I will certainly stay at the Den in the future and also recommend it to friends and family. Thank you Heather.

There was nothing we didn't like. Only comment would be that the shower room extractor fan wasn't working. Only suggestion for improvement would be to provide a couple of lap trays for eating off since there isn't room for a table.
Excellent conversion of the space to a compact and thoughtfully laid out space. Modern design, very clean and nearly presented, access was easy, provision of a kitchen facilities and breakfast much appreciated.
