Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe cosy cottage- it was comfortable and ready for children! The environment was beautiful. Children’s swings were bonus for us. There was a problem with the cottage, the owners very quickly resolved the issue.

United KingdomExtremely hard to find fault with our stay
The milking parlour has become our home from home. Located on a farm in the Welsh countryside it is so peaceful and ideallic. 3 bedrooms, one ensuite, a main bathroom, a cozy lounge with 2 large sofas and tv and a fully equipped kitchen / diner makes the milking parlour the perfect getaway from the busy lives we lead. Perfectly situated so you can discover Wales with it's amazing beaches like Rhossily beach at Worm's Head to the awesome castles. You can take your dog to stay with you. Our Leo had all the fields he could wish for to run about in. This our 2nd stay and we will definitely be back again next year. Thankyou Lucy and Ben. We had a wonderful stay. See you next year. United KingdomEverybody expects good wifi and a good phone signal, but we were aware of the limitations beforehand.
The property was ideal for dog owners, there were open fields for dogs to roam free and a wooded area that they would find very exciting. Lucy the owner was very friendly and approachable.

United KingdomNothing that comes to mind.
A delightful cottage in a lovely setting on a farm ideal for touring around the Brecon Beacons and Carmarthenshire. The hosts Lucy and Ben were friendly, available but not intrusive. The facilities were well equipped with everything we needed and were spotlessly clean. We have already recommended Cosy Cottages to family and friends and will book again next year which is the best recommendation I can give..

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing
This place was way beyond expectations. The perfect location, comfortable living space with attention to detail and phenomenal hosts. If that’s not already enough we got to enjoy some much needed bunny therapy too! Already missing the clean air, green views, starry nights, playful bunnies and all the smiles we got from Lucy and her lovely family. We are incredibly grateful to Lucy and Ben and we hope to be back soon 💗

United KingdomThe cottage is nestled among enormous and unspoilt grounds, you feel very close to nature. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, and attention was paid to small details, like our request to join two single beds into a double, specific recycling bins for sustainability, etc. We also loved the huge sun-trap terrace overlooking the pond and fields, which made for lovely breakfast experiences in the mornings.

The milking palour cottage was fabulous.Perfect quite location in the middle of a farm. A huge kitchen diner with all appliances including oven, hob, washing machine and even a diswasher. 3 decent sized bedrooms, one en suite and a further bathroom. The hosts Lucy and Ben were very warm and welcoming. We had our dog with us and there was so much farmland and fields for him to exercise. We will be going back again. Thank you Lucy and Ben

United KingdomVery little! The only thing we would say is provision of towels would be a good addition and maybe a hair dryer - this is very very minor though!
Situated moderately remotely the properties are high class conversions of former farm outbuildings; a hayloft in our case The location is between 45m and and 1.5hr from the Brecon Beacons, The Gower, Pembrokeshire Coast and Cardigan Bay to name but a few - simply stunning countryside The animals were a wonderful surprise and something our son was over the moon with. Finally; Lucy and Ben made our stay - accommodating, knowledgeable but hands-off and completely unobtrusive! Thank You both - the perfect hosts!
