We was put in a disabled room, toilet paper low grade, the shower was so hot we couldn’t use it and was no way of turning down so was very dangerous. The walls were very thin and could hear other guests in their rooms.

It was a good price and convenient for a night stay

Not much atmosphere in the restaurant Food and drink not great value for money Slow dinner service Room on 2nd floor although we booked with 2 dogs No proper exercise area for dogs Swimming pool and spa on a Saturday is closed at 6.30 so we couldn’t use it and we specifically booked the hotel because we wanted a swim ☹️

Dinner in the restaurant a soulless dull room only one vegetarian option of vegetable lasagne which was 90% melted congealed mozzarella with a minuscule side salad have had Tesco vegetarian lasagne which tasted better at a fraction of the cost. Waitress pleasant but disorganised and sat only couples at the window all solo travellers sat along one wall, not worth the money asked. Very disappointing

Breakfast was mediocre. No vegetarian sausages, eggs were rubbery and we had to get reception to verify we had paid for it. We then had to wait for the waitress to check we weren’t lying so that was unnecessary awkwardness. The place is due some cosmetic maintenance for sure but overall we were comfortable and it was clean which is very important. Some of the staff were exceptionally customer friendly. Whereas others were very cold, such as when we departed, we were not asked how our stay was or even offered a ‘goodbye’. But it is what it is. Although, friendly warm staff can make or break a place and help the clientele overlook the worn out decor…

The swimming pool was fantastic. Perfect temperature.

The shower was a little mouldy and the squeeze soap dispensers in the bathroom were quite difficult to use.

The jacuzzi bath in the room was great. The mattress was really comfortable. The room was really spacious.

Room was okay. Had a hole in the wall behind a cabinet, chunk of plaster missing above headboard. Tea splashes and stains on wall and skirting boards were dusty and dirty. Front desk staff gave no information on facilities, they just handed us the key and pointed to the direction of the room.

Good location, range of facilities was excellent, the pool was clean and so were the changing rooms. Food was really good and staff very friendly. Bar was clean and lovely atmosphere. Pool staff were really helpful and friendly.

That we went for breakfast headed back to room and couldnt get into the room as card didnt work .... Reception rebooted but had to go back it didnt work then had to wait for them to sort lock out... wasnt waiting long ...but managed to open door.. and i thought position of the tv wasnt well thought out

Two single beds made into a double which was slightly uncomfortable. No wash facilities in the bathroom including hand wash and body wash. Breakfast tables not cleaned down immediately so we sat at a table that was not wiped down but they were very busy.

Bed was uncomfortable. Water went everywhere when you turned the tap on at the sink. Bathroom was a bit tired looking, needed a refurb.

The key to our room did not work despite attempts by the staff to make it work. We were in what seemed like the older part of the building and it seemed the electrics and key operation needed upgrading. The instructions as to the heating arrangements was very confusing. Guests should be warned if travelling from south on A!. You have to turn across the dual carriage way with is very busy - very tricky.

Drinks prices at bar and gnats and mosquitoes in the rooms drove me to distractions

Barn great but not good for disabled. When arrived the facilities were not good at all. But the staff were great and changed my room to accommodate me for my needs. But did enjoy my stay and staff were wonderful. Drinks were expensive and I think a happy hour should be used. Overall the stay were enjoyable xxxx

The room was tired, dated, not overly clean with damage to the furniture & bathroom. The menu in the bar & restaurant were both quite limited and food & drinks were over priced. The car park was a long walk to reception

Our room was very dated. Did not match the modern online photos. The photos should be for the room you are booking not generic. We were given a disabled room. Smelt musty & quite shabby. Some clearly visible bodged DIY jobs. Wonky Curtain rail. It was clean and comfortable but needs upgrading. The hotel was busy, fully booked, so we couldn't be given an alternative room. It was a Wednesday night so was surprised it was fully booked but it is close to A1 so perfect stopover hotel I guess. We booked as we wanted to see what it was like as a potential wedding venue. Found it disappointing so crossed it off our list.

Public areas were nice. Bar was good. Pool & jacuzzi good. Staff were pleasant.
