Everything about this hotel was superb. It was a warm, cozy atmosphere right through. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were lovely The views amazing. The food was exceptional.

Bathroom needs to be smartened up a bit and at least one comfortable chair provided in the bedroom.

There was very little not too like. The Restaurant food was a little pricy and the servings of wine by the glass a little on the small side but nice staff and pleasant food.

Great Room - actually more of a suite than a room with a separate sitting area and bathroom. The decoration was a little dated and the four poster bed rather imposing but a lovely comfortable and quiet room.

Can’t think of anything which could have been better

We had a wonderful stay at The Talbot.The parking was easy, the grounds and interior were lovely. The staff were outstanding. Our room was sumptuous and the bed was extra large and very comfortable. The standard of food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. We definitely intend to return

This is not a complaint but a sugestion. The bed pillows were quite firm, could a softer version be made available as a choice.? Parking was limited when the hotel held a function.

Room was large and spotlessly clean with a large comfortable bed. Both breakfast and dinner food was well cooked and presented with ample choice of menu. The staff without exception were all smartly attired and could not be more cheerfull and helpfull, we were made to feel very welcome.

Well located, characterful property. We had a large room overlooking the garden, with a big comfortable bed and a separate sofa. We are in the restaurant and the bar which shared the menu, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely stay.

The atmosphere, the friendly staff, the central location, the lovely food. All these items are the reason we almost didn't want to leave, haha we stayed one night longer as planned.

A request at the time we booked for kippers for one of our breakfasts was missed (they're not on the breakfast menu), but in a chance meeting with the chef, he said that this would not be a problem. Our server still had to check with the kitchen when we ordered them the next morning though! The room was big enough to have accommodated one or two small easy chairs, to relax in or take advantage of the wonderful view.

The large room, the old building, the pleasant and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. We were impressed by the professionalism of all the staff. The situation is excellent and the extensive grounds and gardens gave our room a pleasing aspect. The breakfasts and the evening meal we had were excellent and the dining room was spacious with good views. We would like to return or try another hotel in the group.

The little touched made a huge difference whether it was the hand-written welcome note, the rubber duck in the bathroom. The standard of the hotel is high.

We were not warned there was no lift and our room was on the second floor - the stairs were quite challenging to us. Whilst it was a large room the tv for these days quite small. The light over the desk was useless. There was no chair for the desk so as a dressing table it was poor. I had to put 3 pillow on a chair brought in from the hall before I could use the mirror.

Very good food but a change of menu some days would have been even better.
