How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Lovely hotel and really close to the SWCP for walkiers. The service was excelent and alson recomend the evening meal the food was top quality. Great views from our room and the staff were really helpful. One of the best we have ever stayed in!!

there was nothing not to like . everything was much better than we could possible dream of .
breakfast was fantastic , order what you wanted and always available and the evening meals were out of this world but due to our age we could not eat everything on offer .

We had an excellent stay. The owners couldn't do too much for us, were friendly and helpful. the hotel itself was clean and well decorated. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice to suit all needs. we would definitely recommend staying here.

There was nothing to fault.
Really friendly and kind hosts. Very nice room. Lovely little unexpected extras such as a Cornish cream tea on arrival. Good breakfast choice and food freshly cooked. Very cosy lounge and bar areas.

Road access is not straightforward (literally) but clearly that is nothing to do with the hotel.
Hosts were very welcoming and we actually felt they were pleased to see us. All meals were beautifully prepared and presented. We were given a room upgrade on arrival and a box of chicks in the bed was a nice touch.

There was not anything we did not like. But it would be nice to maybe have bigger bath towels. But that is the only thing we could say. But that is just our preference and not a negative.
The property itself was beautiful.It was immaculately clean. The hotel is run by a lovely couple. They cannot do enough for you. The welcome was warm and friendly and made you feel right at home. They made the stay a very special one. The food was exceptional and very reasonably priced, in fact it was so good we did not bother to eat out at all. We usually like to try different places when we have our little breaks,but this is one place we will definitely visit again.

There wasn't anything not to like about Tremarne.
Great welcome by the owners Tam and Wes. A complimentary room upgrade, a beautiful complimentary fresh cream tea and when we were shown to our room a free Easter egg on the bed. Very warm and clean. When we came in from the village soaking wet Wes took our anoraks and they were dry the next morning. Lovely breakfast included and delivered by friendly staff.

A lovely family run hotel. Both Wes and Tasmine were excellent, friendly hosts - always ensuring that you had everything you needed for your stay and more! The hotel was well equipped. We had a small issue with not having hot water in our room, so they offered us another room to use, as well as keeping our large, comfortable room with a view. A small gift was left on our bed on arrival (chocolates), our room was cleaned, restocked and tidied daily (unless we didn't need it), breakfast was delicious and made to order and we enjoyed a cream tea after a wet morning out and about. The hotel is easy to find and park at and in a great location, walking distance to the harbour. We enjoyed chatting to both Wes and Tasmine in the bar, and they were ever so good with washing / drying any clothes when needed.

We were unlucky with the weather and would like to have done more in the area.
The breakfast was great set you up for the day. Plenty of car parking a big plus in Mevagissey. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Pleasant experience on checking in to the hotel,cream tea on arrival. Fantastic sole dish for evening meal well presented and just the right combination of ingredients. Breakfast pleasant and well presented.
