Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe first nights meal was not great, the fish itself was ok but the surrounding pea puree was not to our taste.I believe serving a few bits with drinks before dinner would be better than the canapes that we received.
Ty Mawr came up to expectation, the staff and proprietors were very helpful assisted by buster who is a character himself.Breakfast was excellent along with the steak we ate on the second night.

United KingdomI thought the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs could have been served with/on toast or blini/muffin and condiments should have been offered upon service, but this is really knit picking as the breakfast offered on the whole is great. I chose this hotel because of the EV charging, but because of its location it was used as a general parking spot for the nearest room even when they were not charging. This is not really the fault of the hotel but the etiquette of the people using that parking slot. Perhaps some better signage is required.
Breakfast was obviously made with high quality ingredients and the focus was using local suppliers. Sausage was particularly good. Getting the highly prized window seat with bird watching opportunities on the first day was a joy.

United KingdomWe didn’t stay longer
Amazing from the first moment we walked through the door. We were greeted by David and enjoyed a lovely complimentary cup of coffee and cake in the dog friendly garden. We met Busta the dog who is very friendly and got on well with our Golden retriever. The room was very clean, a brilliant drinks tray with an array of an assortment of drinks, also a tray with bottled water. The bath was lovely with the added bonus that I could watch the television from the bath. The bed was comfy and we both had a lovely comfortable nights sleep. We had an evening meal and all I can say is that it was worthy of a Michelin Three stars: Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey. Breakfast was of the same calibre, a great selection of pastries, cerals and yogurt and specially prepared yogurt with granola with a Berry compote. Then there was a selection of hot breakfast choices. We had the salmon and scrambled eggs and a vegetarian breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Gill (the amazing chef) is very friendly and took time out to talk to us. David was always on hand if you ever needed anything. Would highly recommend to everyone especially if you love top quality food, love peace and quiet and have a dog, we can't wait to visit again.

AustraliaEverything was great.
Do yourself a favour and stay here! Original old building that’s been tastefully updated - great bathroom with lovely products, comfy couch and bed, garden view, good lighting, connectivity and plenty of good coffee/tea etc. Hosts friendly and helpful. Restaurant downstairs is delightful and served best food we’ve had in UK. Lovely countryside, good pub just down the road. Best place we’ve stayed. Loved it. 😊

United KingdomNothing at all!! We would just have liked to have stayed longer!!
From the very start of our stay we were made to feel genuinely welcome. David and Gill are excellent hosts and Annette so lovely at both our evening meals. Gill is a great cook and was so kind and thoughtful catering for my dietary needs both in the evening and for breakfast. The ambiance of Ty Mawr has been set by lovely hosts - the rooms are really comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. This feels like a 'home from home' but with all the advantages of being so well cared for. We would so love to return and cannot recommend Ty Mawr enough. Thank you for a great and special stay.

United KingdomTy Mawr nestles in the Carmarthenshire countryside - near to the sea as well as the hills. We chose it for this reason and were not disappointed. With a warm greeting we were given tea and fresh bara brith . The room was very comfortable, dinner was very reasonably priced and very good quality and breakfast ample. We even got to play scrabble in front of the log fire .

United KingdomI don't hink the pictures do this place justice. I arrived at the hotel after a 7 hour drive so I was very tired. The place is beautiful in a lovely/quiet location. Very cosy setting and the most comfortable bed I have ever found in a hotel room (and I stay in a lot of hotels). Can't fault this place. Lovely breakfast as well which was a bonus. I was travelling with two colleagues and they said exactly the same thing. Very impressed!

United KingdomShower could have had more pressure.
Booked this just 1 hour prior to arrival, set in a stunning location I was met at reception by David the owner and Buster the outrageously gorgeous golden retriever, shown to my very large and clean room dominated but a beautifully dressed bed, big tv, lots of complimentary tea and coffee, clean bathroom with premium shampoos and shower gels etc. The dining experience was excellent, the food was presented at a very high standard and tasted amazing, the nut roast I would recommend without hesitation. Sadly it was just one night and all to soon I was leaving in the morning and I’m missing Buster.
