How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Awful coffee at breakfast!
I had asked for a quiet room and the hotel confirmed that they would make sure I got this, but when I got into the room there were noisy roadworks right below my window. I went to Reception and a very helpful member of staff found me a different room well away from the roadworks. I was very impressed with the service provided and the fact that he wanted to make sure I was happy.

Room was extremely small, could just move between bottom of bed and the wall and no more. Bed was very small too, (husband is big and at 6”4 he was hanging off the edge). No sockets near bed either; sleep apnoea machine needs plugged in order to work.
Location. Staff were very nice and helpful. Extremely clean and tidy. Loved the feature pendulum in the lobby area.

Had emailed and agreed to pay extra to have single bed in room as me and my friend didn't really want to share a bed. Checked on check in that this was sorted and paid the extra. However, no single bed, we managed and next morning staff were very apologetic and agreed to refund the extra. These things happen.
Love the hotel, stayed before and booked for June. Great area, great staff, clean and comfortable.

Too expensive for what you’re getting. No safe in room. Area was dodgy. While it does have Canal Street near by, it doesn’t feel safe.
Bed was comfortable and interior was nice. Amenities such as tea/coffee biscuits was good. Near train station. Staff were lovely.

No mini fridge or microwave in rooms ...makes.it inconvenient if you want to have snacks or drinks or store /heat up leftover food from eating out. Room was quite stuffy and no ac unit I could find to control so had keep window open a lot for air circulation .
Staff were wonderful and very kind ! Location was good .

The room was very small and quite gloomy. There was no net curtains or blinds so during the day we had to have the curtains wide open for light so there was no privacy.
Very clean, stylish, modern and elegant. Breakfast Buffet area was large and onsite restaurant provided quality dining.

Bed (mattress) was extremely uncomfortable. Room was quite cold and radiator didn’t work.

Not very clean, bed mattress was terrible, small window had failed sealed unit and full of condensation. Hotel seemed very tired and it was expensive

Had to go looking for bar staff then were asked to take our drinks outside bar area as it was closing. It wasn't late, before 10 on a Sunday night. Would of liked to be able to sit and have a couple of drinks.

W could hear everybody on the corridor, the door while locking have been extremely loud. There was some marks on the ceiling. Very small room and there was a lot of condensation on the windows from the bathroom.
Clean bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Nice size bathroom . Everything was clean . Nice Tv, and other ammenities. Good idea to give complimentary drink for a day without houskeeping.

As always, in any hotel I stay in, I would like more milk and in larger containers. A lot of packaging for very little milk. Not ideal for the environment.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. I got Patrick’s name but the other gentlemen whose names I didn’t get, were great too. Room was clean and very good value for money. Facilities were good eg. plenty of coffee, ironing board. The location was perfect for me. Warm powerful shower too!
