Noisy outside in the morning. Shower controls not great. No handle on wardrobe door with sharp screw stocking out.

If I had to pick on something it would be the TV in the room wasn't working. I did report it to the receptionist but nothing was done about it. Didn't really affect me much as I was out and about most the time around this lovely city.

Clean and tidy room, a little dated, but very comfortable , breakfast and evening meal were the 2 meals I had there, and both were delicious. Bar area was well set out, and actually really comfortable. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The hotel is situated half way between the Cathedral and the Quays, with both being no more than a couple of minutes walk away.

The Service was poor customers were waiting Twenty minutes before any one arrived to take their order, I waited a few minutes unaware people on the higher level were before me. Poor lad running around trying to serve a dozen customers, who done a sterling job. I think everyone appreciated his efforts. Got the impression there was one person in the kitchen. Food was very tasty when it arrived. Surprised the cost of Breakfast did not include Juice , Cereals or Toast, did not feel it was value for money.

We were in a twin room, I was travelling with my daughter, and we only had one key for the room. We would have appreciated a key each. We weren't always together during the day, going out and returning at different times, and it was a bit of a faff co-ordinating who had the key. There was one chair in the room which we used for clothes and it would have been good to have a second chair. We did ask at the desk and they said they'd bring one up the following day, but we didn't get one, and we never got round to asking again. So partly our fault for not following up! I'm sure that if we'd asked again they would have given us another chair.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I travelled with my daughter and we both slept well. The room wasn't too hot or too cold. Our room overlooked the car park and we were not disturbed by any noise at night. The ensuite bathroom was clean and the shower over the bath was good. It was a very convenient location for staying in Exeter, easy to find and close to the city centre.

The coffee at breakfast was truly awful. I had no TV remote in my room, but they provided one when I notified them on reception.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had one of the single rooms which was fine but obviously not luxurious. Great water pressure in the shower. Location was great as I needed quick access to the cathedral area.

Bathroom - no mirror, no toilet paper at all.

Hotel in need of some TLC as showing its age & minor issues with notices that should be on the walls standing on the floor as fallen off.

Location was great for us as in the heart of the city & only short walks for sightseeing. Good value for money
