Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe appartments are designed in a very unlucky way: the apptmts are very close to each other. Our bedroom window was just above the terrace and entrance of our neighbours below, therefore, if they decide to live nightlife, it makes it impossible for us to sleep or rest at night. Especially true and annoying if these neightbours do not respect their neighbours, and live their loud nights not considering even silent hours (after 10 pm!). Not being able to sleep and rest at night made our stay unfortunately unpleasant!
The location, the surroundings, the beach and the sea was really nice. Having a dishwasher made it comfortable. The terrace and the American kitchen-living room is a nice space for the family. Being able to use the facilities of the hotel (pool, etc.) is a useful gesture.

United KingdomThe fixtures and fittings could have done with an update. The TVs are pretty much redundant. it would have been useful to have a better stocked on site shop. The bars and cafes should also stock more snacks and crisps/nuts etc.
Plenty of hotel facilities, the bar area and entertainment was great!

United Arab EmiratesWe stayed in villas in aparatments, doors and windows are like 40 yrs old and don't have any sound proof, so you can hear your neighbours like they are seating on your balcony. Also, group of people were having party few nights on their balcony until 4am, and no one from the hotel staff came to tell them to stop. This villas are a bit further from the hotel so they should have someone from hotel staff checking on things like this.
Hotel is renovated, hotel staff is very proffesional and kids club is amazing!

NorwayVery nice place! Good location near the beach and walking distance to Porec old town. The pool nearest the hotel was very full, a bit noicy and the pool was a bit small. The one next door was much better- bigger and more spacious. Liked that we got fresh towels for the pool every day. Should inform guests that it costs 40kn pr sunbed at the beach. A bit of a hilly walk to get to the shop to buy food. Good exercise though! The apartments are looking a bit dated inside, but they function.

CroatiaThe photographer who took the pictures of the premises (Valamar Residence) did a great job, in reality it looks a bit different. Ready for renovation, or at least some kind of refreshment
In my opinion Valamar has great recruitment and training program. Every single employee (reception desk, cook, waiter, sport zone, kids zone) was absolutely fantastic. Nice, kind, polite, ready to help in every situation. Hotel facilities are superb (swimming poll especially). Breakfast at the hotel was extraordinary, great choice of food.

CroatiaThe photos give you the impression of a very bright apartment. However, it is very very gloomy inside, the lights are so weak you can barely see the bed. Wooden shutters prevent the light from coming in to the living room (great if it is hot outside), and you can only open the door to have light come in. If you want outside air at night, you leave the door open and invite squirrels in :-) Sofa bed is ok to sleep on, but the regular bed is not (way too soft).
Nice sized apartment with a sunny balcony. Close to all amenities fo the Valamar Diamant hotel and not too far from the beach. Very clean. Pine forest all around the property and along the coastline. Easy walk to Poreč and lots of nice places along the beach to have a drink or eat something. Better than in downtown (and the prices are better as well).

CroatiaApartment was old and appears to be never maintained, missing basic stuff (no detergent, sponge, tabs for washing machine), nothing to wash the dishes with. There's a stove for cooking but mostly not working or working poorly. Walls with a lot of damage and dirty, dirty curtains, a lot of ants the apartment, doors can barely close, door frames rotten. Apartment was quite cold. Heating was with air conditioner and it was on the entire time and working poorly, no heating/cooling in bedrooms. A lot of garbage around the apartments, seagulls carrying it all over the place. Pool at the hotel is colder than advertised, very shallow.
Wellness and Spa at hotel which is additional cost (10€).

GermanyThe apartments were in extremely bad condition. They have been worn and damaged, it looks like almost nothing had been done since at least the 70s (yellow appliances that once may have been white). We had mold in both the bedrooms and the bathroom. The entire place was terribly dark due to the small window sizes. The “fresh” towels we received were full of stains and smelled as if somebody smoked next to them. Even the drying rack was badly damaged and rusty
The (sister-)hotel’s facilities were quite nice and free of charge, e.g. the pool and the fitness room.

CroatiaI would like to suggest to the wellness staff to forbid use of mobile phones in FKK, sauna and whirpoool area.
When first reading some of the reviews I was a little bit “scared”. Yes, a Diamant Residence is a bit from 20yrs ago, you can notice that for sure. But, the staff is extremely polite and welcoming and for me that it is a huge contributor to general feeling of our stay. Especially Mr. Ivo the receptionist. Food is really good, it was the most amazing breakfast ever! Like an ancient roman feast, really. Apartments were really clean and fruits and bottled water were nice touch.

SloveniaThey had overbooked and did not have the room available that I booked. (An apartment with two bedrooms). I said we would take two small apartments for the same price, then they offered one small apartment and one hotel room for the same price, with two free breakfasts thrown in. When I arrived they said it was not possible to check in until 2pm. Then later on there was a huge queue at reception. They charged me 50€ for my 2kg dog to stay two nights. They also charged for parking even though the property is nowhere near the town centre. My apartment was dirty even though it was probably the first time it had been occupied this year. There was hair on the bathroom floor that has probably been there since last October. The apartment is in need of refurbishment. The climate crisis has entirely passed Valamar by, I could see no measures for sustainability. The shower gel smelled toxic. The staff are clearly completely untrained and expected to learn on the job. I ordered water at the bar, the waiter said he would bring it to the table then served a large group of people, leaving me and my friend without drinks. There was nowhere to sit the next evening and have a drink, all the chairs were occupied. In any case the live music was terrible, so it was better to go to bed. We checked out on the last night in order to avoid the large queue at reception the next morning, and nobody knew anything about what had been agreed about alternative rooms. I had a 90 minute olive treatment in the spa, when I got out of the shower after a skin scrub the room flooded because of blocked drains. I was charged extra for a decaf coffee at breakfast time. I felt sorry for the employees, they are all nice but clearly have had no training and have to work in difficult circumstances.
The only thing I liked was the large choice of food at breakfast. However the hotel was fully booked and the breakfast room was a nightmare, so crowded
