“The location in a rural setting, out of town was lovely and relaxing with good views (especially sunrise). It was convenient for us because we had a car and driver (but the owners can also provide transport if required to local tourist sites etc). The home cooked vegetarian food was very tasty, the room was large and clean and the bathroom had great water pressure and hot water. The family was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.”
“Jovan and Yayuk are the best. Staying with them was the best part of my Flores trip. Ended up staying there 3 nights… and was doubting about a 4th 😉. Jovan took us to his community praying, the English teacher showed us the school and invited us for the big school performance. We went to the best waterfall, and when I came back with a big wound from a scooter crash, Yayuk took care of me! And don’t forget about the best food I had in Indonesia.. “I had a Great time in Ruteng, the homestay was really nice and clean. The breakfast was good and for a small price you had a really nice dinner! They are really friendly and try to help you with everything. I met a lovely lokal guide there :Yuven, who showed me around Ruteng for two days. We went to his traditional village were he grew up, hiked to waterfalls, he showed me how arrack was made, went to a lokal volleyball game and he showed me the rice-fields where I joined the workers. It was a really special and wonderful experience. If you go to Ruteng take your time to explore it, it is worth it.”
“The owners are amazing, very, very helpful and caring. Breakfasts were delicious and different each day. The rooms are super clean and every bed has curtains, light and power socket. The water under shower is hot and with really good pressure. In the kitchen is available water, coffee and tea all the time. You can also rent a scooter there and owners can reccommend places to visit in whole island and they can arrange really comfy transport to other cities. It's the best stay we had on Flores!”
