Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe location in a rural setting, out of town was lovely and relaxing with good views (especially sunrise). It was convenient for us because we had a car and driver (but the owners can also provide transport if required to local tourist sites etc). The home cooked vegetarian food was very tasty, the room was large and clean and the bathroom had great water pressure and hot water. The family was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home.

Really sweet homestay with lovely hosts. They were so kind and even picked me up from the town as I travelled solo with the public bus. And also brought me to the bus stop when I left. Very kind. The place was really nice too, beautiful view on the mountains, spacious room and bathroom, comfy bed, mosquito net. You get as much water, coffee and tea as you want, which is really nice, because at night it can get a bit fresh outside. They also offer dinner for the guests, which vegetables from the garden, it was delicious. I didn’t visit much around but just took a walk/ hike around the surrounding rice fields, which was sooooo beautiful, I can really recommend it. You can use the offline app „maps me“ to see the ways you can take. Thank you!!

United KingdomIt’s further from town than we expected, about 3km but we love to walk and found a quiet route into town without too many motorbikes!
Great views. The rooms were fine with very comfortable beds. Udis, the owner was just brilliant and did everything she could to make us feel at home. We booked again on our return from Bejawa and we were greeted like family, it was like coming home!

LatviaFor some reason Gunnung Mas buses normally don't deliver you to this guesthouse and stop at another hotel some other hotel FX, which is some 10 minutes walk from the guesthouse. We managed to convince the driver to make an exception and bring us to the guesthouse. The bathroom combined with the toilet gets very wet.
The hostess had the best English we saw in Flores and she welcomed us very friendly. The morning breakfast view from the garden to the mountains is breathtaking. The bed was comfy with a mosquito net included. The room was also very clean. The guesthouse also rented us their own motorbike so that we can go to the Hobit cave and Spider rice field. This was very convenient given the fact that the guesthouse is not in the center and close to any other services. We would stay in this guesthouse again.

CanadaThe place could use a little modernization. A top sheet on the beds rather than a comforter would be more hygienic. Breakfast was just ok...the eggs were cooked earlier and were therefore cold and rubbery.
We really liked the location as it was out of town and more peaceful. We had a driver so we didn't have to worry about getting to places. Udis, the owner, was wonderful. She invited us(and the other guests) to a wedding. Our unit was very spacious.

NetherlandsThe rooms could be a bit more cosy.
Great views, and miss Udis was very kind and friendly. She even prepared dinner for us when we came late in the evening, and was very helpful with all of our questions. Amazing place to explore Flores and Ruteng, and for getting to know local people without any tourists. We used the scooter they provided to see many things, would definitely recommend!!

AustraliaThe water in the shower is temperamental. There is road noise until after dark.
Lovely friendly owner and staff. Bungalow was comfortable with two big beds, shower and toilet. A covered outside sitting area was supplied with a jar of Flores coffee, tea and a huge Thermos of hot water, and a large jug of drinking water - so at any time was coffee time! Udis made dinner for us on both nights of our stay and the meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. Hobbit Hill is a good option rather than staying in town.
