Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanThe sockets by my bed were completely broken, I was lucky that the dorm I was in wasn't full so I moved to another bed to get a working socket. It was also quite cold in the dorm.
The staff were really friendly, there was a nice atmosphere. The beds were also pretty comfortable.

RussiaIf you're travelling from Europe, Ireland uses the British socket standard, and adaptors are sold on-site for 8 euros. So, if you want to spend this money on something more useful, charge your phone from the USB-port of a local computer or get an adaptor in advance.
The location is just great, and there are plenty of facilities on-site, so you can cook and use computers with the Internet connection for free. Most of spaces are open 24/7, and there are vending machines, so if you want to hang out in the middle of the night, have a beer and read/surf the web, that's a really great option!

IrelandMy room was good, the only bad point was that there was only one toilet in a 12 people room, so was not enough, and in the other floors as well, only one small toilet for floor so it gets busy very quickly.
The location is perfect and the staff is very friendly. I enjoyed my stay.

Czech RepublicReally nice hostel, small single room with very clean and beautiful bathroom, friendly staff and good breakfast. The location is absolutely perfect near to a lot of Dublin's must-see-stops. The only problem was the noise at the hotel during the night (other guests), because it was like there were no walls, like people would stay and talk next to my bed 😅 But overall, it was really nice experience and I recommend this hostel as it's price is really good for the center of Dublin 👍

GermanyThere could be separate bins for waste (plastic, paper etc.), especially in the kitchen, it felt unecological throwing everything in the same bin. Overall cleanliness could be a bit better.
The location is perfect. Breakfast was nice. Although I was in a dorm for 12 people, thanks to the curtains it felt private and there were minimum disturbances by other guests.

South KoreaMaybe it was just in the room I stayed, I really don’t like the photo(Buddha) on the wall, it made me creepy even if I believe Buddhism. There was no elevator and I had injury during the stay so it was uncomfortable.
It is located near main street and the room was clean!

IrelandI was in 4 bed for 3 nights, and the room was not cleaned during my stay, maybe because they were doing some work on the next floor, which caused leaking in the shower. Overall, it's a great place to stay in Dublin.

GermanyYou have to bring your own towels and padlocks.
The stuff is very nice and helpful. You find someone who can help you 24h. There are a lot of facilities such as luggage storage, hairdryers, lockers (you need your own padlock), restaurant.. Our roommates were very considerate and quiet, though they came back in the middle of the night and had to get up early. The bus from/to the airport stops nearby.

United KingdomLack of sofas and places to chill out. Privacy curtains at the beds (could be a bit more curtainey to actually give you full privacy but not bad overall) TV had Netflix (but you had to use your own account) Pool table needs refelting and it's a shame it costs a Euro instead of being grattis! A chair in the dorms to put your shoes on would have been nice. I mean, what are we, a bunch of people who sit on the floor to put our shoes on...
Excellent staff. Positive, outgoing, helpful, chatty but not overbearing. Breakfast was a bit lacklustre but as it comes free can't fault it too much. Amazing location. Big Kitchen! But the knives could do with a bit of sharpening. Oddly enough there was a lack of teaspoons too. And more chopping boards would have been nice.
