How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the price for one night was steep and then the extra charge of 20 pp for breakfast. The hot breakfast was not up to standard in my opinion and I was therefore disappointed with paying that price per person
service was amazing. front of house staff were very welcoming. spa was amazing and we both had treatments which were very good. Evening dinner was lovely and the staff in the bar were lovely. Will go back

The balcony doors are very heavy to open and close.
The hotel is very spacious and very sophisticated. Great food and very helpful staff. All around a great stay.

The heating in the room couldn’t be turned off despite staff trying to for two nights in a row. We were sweating with the heat despite opening the balcony door and didn’t sleep well at all. Not a good experience.

A couple of the staff were quite rude. We were even accused of lying at one point! We got locked into the river walk because the gate was wide open but we were told that that’s never the case and we must have “snuck in behind someone” Gas. But rude. Food in the main restaurant was middle at best. Definitely not worth the money.
Spa was fab but they don’t make it clear enough that you have to book, so we only got 25 mins in on day 1. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to help me decide on my meal! In general the staff were lovely. Beds were super comfortable and the overall vibes were great

Our bedroom had plenty of room but we would have liked a fridge just to keep a bottle of water in

This is not applicable. There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.
Hotel was very clean and modern. Rooms were spotless. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was exceptional.

A mini fridge in the room would be handy. We saved the beach walk until our last day as the weather was the best that day but when we went to do it, there was a big locked gate that you needed a room key card to get through. We had already checked out so we missed out. It would be very useful to make it clear at the hotel, that the walk can only be accessed by a key card
We went at Christmas time & the hotel decor was beautiful including a gorgeous Christmas tree and fire lighting in the lobby - we could have sat there and relaxed all night

The heat in the bedroom at night was awful, found it unbesrable and unable to slerp. I had a meal in the bar on the first night ( steak) very disappointed. I had received the voucher for my 60th birthday and i didn't expect so many people in the spa area. It really was over crowded on the wednesday.
Location was good, close to Gorey town. Spa treatment was excellent.

Most is our room which untidy dirty look like there is typhoon in our room in fact we stay for nights in our booking, staff never checked, never communicate with us if we are going or stay. But our thing are still in our room they should called us before they call the cleaners. And room is open our thing still in our bedroom, which we are not there because we go for walk in beach, then when we come back our room still not clean and bed sheets duvets cover , pillow case looked like a typhoon in our room. I’m lucky that my jewellery I keep in my bag if not maybe will be gone because the door, opened staff never communicate with us and they just called the cleaners with out asking if that room 311 are they check out. They never double check before calling the cleaners. Very disgraceful.
Not went well with the staff. Very disrespectful and some of the staff you can see not happy to serving the guests. All you need to do is more training with all your staff.
