This is my second time staying here and I will be coming back again. Amazing place to stay. Surrounded by mountains and a going for a swim/soak outside is just wonderful. Having a small kitchen area to cook is a real bonus too.

The cottage was everything you could ask for. Total perfection, perfect location, perfect view, perfect interior… and also perfect spot for viewing the northern lights!

The hot tub (reason for which we chose to book this place) is very hot and can’t be adjusted. All 6 other places during our stay had a hot tub and this one was definitely the hottest we encountered. We could stay just for about 10-15 mins but the dip was not a pleasure, the water which comes from the main pipe is very very hot. Probably the owner likes to take dips at 40-41-42 degrees C - which we respect, it’s a personal choice - but most guests aren’t used to this temp. At least it should have an adjustment system as i would bet most people find 38-39 degrees more tolerable. For us, this was a disappointment. The house has also many rules including not touching the heaters temp which is set on 2 by default (i find this stupid but i guess it has a technical reason behind) and there are 6 or 7 recycling bins which makes the process exhausting - we are also used to recycling but sometimes things may look a bit exaggerated - they even have a book with recycling instructions. Again, we totally understand that these are the house rules and we respected them as if we were in our own home but just also take our perspective as such. All in all, we had a nice stay and would come again with pleasure.

The cottage is beautiful and well organised. Confy, enough space & clean even if the building itself is no longer that new. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything one would need to cook a nice dinner. We stayed only for a night but it was a pleasant one.

The cabin was huge for the two of us, lovely to have space after lots of hotel rooms. We used the full kitchen and enjoyed the hot tub, this was a place we definitely could have stayed longer as so much space. The hot tub was a bonus and beautiful to sit in, we went in before and after dinner.

The cottage was one of the cutest places we stayed in our whole trip in Iceland. Very comfortable, it had everything you need! The plus was the hot tub with thermal waters that we enjoyed in the evening and are for use 24h! Good communication with hosts and very helpful. Totally recommend it!

A small point, but it would be good to have some kind of light for using the hot tub after dark and somewhere to hang dressing gowns - it was a bit hard to use after dark and in the snow!

Neighbours ' outdoor lights are too bright. Window blinds are broken, do not shut. Stairs to upstairs bedrooms very steep and shallow tread. Dangerous for young/ old/ people with poor balance. Would be nice to have a laundry machine, if we chose to stay for longer.

Lovely central hot spring. House kitchen is very well equipped, enough to feed an army! Lovely shower. Beds comfy. Quiet. Music system with speakers for entirs downstairs. Large dining table can easily fit 8 people. Saw the aurora!

This was our third visit to Hestasport cottages, we love it! This time we stayed in Rafthus, a 2 bedroom cottage. It is just lovely, warm and cozy; the little kitchen, the sitting areas and comfy bedrooms. We loved spending time in the glorious hot pot. The horse riding is wonderful, highly recommended. There is not much nearby, which is part of the appeal--but make sure you bring some snacks and drinks. They did have coffee and tea in the kitchen.

We were only there one night; I wish we could've stayed longer.

Host was friendly, cottage was amazing! The natural hot tub was 104ºF (40ºc) constantly and they provide shoes and robes to wear to walk out to the hot tub. Although there were other guests in other cottages, we had the hot tub all to ourselves (but it's big, could seat a dozen adults!) House construction was sturdy (not cheap like some of the cottages we've stayed in here in Iceland); furniture also very sturdy and comfy. Wifi worked great.

Having to go to the pick-up office to pick-up/drop-off the keys added a little bit of extra time to our journey, but not a huge deal.

We loved our stay at Hestasport Cottages. Everything was extremely clean, the location was excellent, and we loved the hot tub in the center where we met the other travelers! Wifi was great, the beds were comfortable, and overall, we couldn't have asked for anything better.

Only thing we did not like was the smell of the water. It’s all natural for the hotpot, shower as well as drinking water. The egg smell however was very strong and we were not able to drink it or use for brushing teeth.

Very nice cottages with everything you need. Spacious and clean. We also went horse riding which was amazing. Very nice staff.
