Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA few more utensils in the kitchen and maybe some extra standard stuff like salt and sugar etc (we got some from the restaurant bit, who were lovely). The downstairs was lovely and decorated very well. The upstairs was fine but felt a little like it wasn't quite the same standard as downstairs, maybe thinking it would just be kids staying there.
Obviously the location and spa is the main draw here, it's amazing. The restaurant was fine, not a huge menu but we self catered for most of our meals. The house we stayed in (The Clubhouse) was nice, fitting 4 adults and 1 child very comfortably.

CanadaEverything was perfect, except the weather, but you can't do anything about that!
Spectacular view, well equipped kitchen, quiet, and wonderful spa experience. We completed the Glymur waterfall hike and returned to a relaxing spa and dinner.

United Statesi have been to iceland a few times now. on this trip we were multi-generational; grandparents, parents, and children. just wonderful accommodations. the food and springs were awesome. perfect location. easy for people to split off for the day and do activities, then meet back and enjoy the kitchen for meals. my son ( 10) particularly enjoyed fly fishing in the lake. the spa rivals the blue lagoon- more authentic and less touristy feel.

United StatesThe geothermal pool is very tiny and there is construction going on right beside it, we couldn’t even find it the first night we went down. The one let down of this property.
Beautiful, away from the city

United Statesour biggest issue with the property was that the geothermal pools shown in the picture were actually not included with the property. one of the main reasons we booked this property was because we wanted to get away from the crowded geothermal pools to have something that the family could enjoy more privately. But once we arrived, first of all, it was very hard to find the geothermal tools on the property. Then when we found it after driving around on difficult potholed roads, it was completely cold and non-functional and we ended up leaving without using the pool. When we called the property and asked them to investigate, they told us they will get back to us but never did. The pool that is shown in the picture, we enquired where it was and then they told us that it is no longer included in the property and you have to pay ~$50 per adult in order to access this. that is basically misrepresentation of what is included in the property. Some of the supplies were very stingy. They did not even have enough plastic bags to put trash away. They had two plastic bags into trash cans and when we asked for more, they never responded; so we ended up finding bags throughout the house or going out ourselves to get some in order to throw the trash away for the three nights we were there. In the end, we don't think this property is worth what they are charging for it. Primarily because of the geothermal pools, at least in our opinion. We would not stay there again even if we were to go back to Iceland. Too overpriced and not enough value for the money
We traveled to this estate with the family, two small kids, + me and my wife and we stayed there for three nights. This was part of a 13 day trip around Iceland. The location of the estate is absolutely beautiful. The house was clean when we entered and all the equipment was in good working order. They had coffee, tea available so we did not have to go by basic necessities and also provided some detergent as well as washing fluids and soaps and shampoos.
