Very comfortable, spacious and clean room near the center of magnificent Matera. Host Martino is a great ambassador of Matera and had a lot of good advices, routes and good restaurants. He made our visit unforgettable.

Nothing! We should have stayed more than 1 night. The hotel and Matera are very romantic and worth visiting. It's sad we had to go. We will be back!

Everything from the brand new luxury room carved in an old cave/leather shop, the ammenities, the breathtaking view we had outside the room and only 3 min walking from the old town (Sessi). On top, the owner was great, more than a host, he was also our local guide, made restaurant reservations and also explained us details about the hotel history and Matera. Everything was great, good value for money, more than we expected. It was such a nice surprise and we really recommend the location. It's also very quiet area. Thanks Martino for the great hospitality and smile.

Martino was an outstanding host. He picked us up from the bus station which was very generous. He also spent many minutes carefully explaining about Matera and the places we should visit. He is very passionate about the beautiful town of Matera and he rightly thinks it’s incredibly important to understand the complex history of Matera in order to understand the place, especially via the superb film at Casa Noha.

Fabulous property on the edge of the old town, easily walkable, with a cliff top view. Our host provided detailed information for self guided walking, taking in important aspects of Matera’s history. Communication before and during our stay was first class as well as fun, including a restaurant reservation on our behalf. Rooms are large, stylish and recently renovated. Very comfortable.

Would have appreciated to have Italian coffee in the room instead of Nescafe instant. Rooms are great and creatively designed however the walls and floors are thin as we could hear couple above talking as well as moving furniture and walking.

This is a beautifully renovated historic property close to the centre of Matera with free on street parking nearby. The owner couldn’t be more welcoming. He spent time explaining a good first walk around Matera to orientate ourselves and to explain important sites to visit. The property has its own amazing view of the gorge. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, with good coffee, fresh bread, focaccia, croissants etc. We would definitely come back and stay again!

We had the most peaceful stay in this place. We were fascinated by the attention to detail in the charming rooms to keep the authenticity of the place. The history, beautifully and with passion explained by the host makes this place captivating. Very clean, all the necessities we needed are provided. The host, Martino was amazing person and was very much passionate about Matera. The language barrier was immediately resolved by Google Translate. The room was very well decorated with modern amenities but still have the ancient cave feeling. The room was specious and very clean. The breakfast was very authentic Italian with good variety and Martino was very attentive for serving it. The view from the balcony was very beautiful overlooking canyon with fresh breeze of air. Martino helped us in details for the sightseeing of Matera. It was very helpful to optimize our short stay. He also showed us the city from the other side of canyon. We will definitely visit this hotel again and will very much recommend your stay here. All the best for Martino and thank you for hosting us.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The host was great during our reception by showing us all the room and facilities. Upon our arrival, he took the time to explain a bit about the city and helped us to book a restaurant for dinner. The room was great and had a view of the valley. The bed was comfy.

Nothing ! Everything was perfect.

We stayed 2 nights in the Red Room at L'Antica Conceria and were so happy with our choice. The Camera Rossa is very spacious, beautifully and tastefully furnished with a mix of traditionnal and modern equipments (loved, loved the lighting fixtures !). The bed is very confortable and the bathroom absolutely huge and amazing. Everything was pristine clean. the room leads to the garden where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the canyon and of the Belvedere from which you have a tremendous view of the Sassi (we recommend going at sunset). Breakfast was perfect with a choice of locally-sourced sweet and salty products, including the so good Matera Bread. There is a chance you won't need lunch after Martino made you taste everything :-) L'Antica Conceria is perfectly located, a 5-minute wallk from the Sassi area. We enjoyed being so close from the historic town, yet away from the hustle and bustle. Our host Martino was perfect in all ways. Communication was fluid and friendly from the beginning. He helped with parking, made dinner reservation for us (Osteria l'Arco was our favorite) and most importantly provided us with insider's tips and itineraries to visit the Sassi. We would have been lost without him ! We recommend Antica Conceria 200% !
