Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is located overlooking a square which is VERY popular among students in the evenings and as many people mentioned the noise is significant. We also witnessed a few drug deals being made tight under the windows of the apartment. The kitchen would benefit from bugger coffee maker or an additional one and more plates. You have only one set for 5 people.
Very spacious rooms and lovely terrace. The facilities good but I would suggest a few upgrades in the kitchen.

AustraliaIt is located in the University area and above a good and cheap bar/bistrot often full of students and open until late. Despite very good insulating windows, there could be some noise at night that we easily managed with earplugs.
Very spacious, comfortable rooms, different temperature setting for each areas plenty of kitchen tools, very clean and walking distance from the main attractions and restaurants.

United StatesThe apartment windows face a popular bar (university crowd) just below the building which got loud at night. We brought a sound machine for our daughter and weren’t as bothered as our friend who had to wear ear plugs. The larger of the two rooms does not have a door to separate it from the living room. As a result, when our daughter was sleeping, we had to tip-toe around. We ended up hanging out on the patio a lot, which was a lovely little sanctuary.
The rental company was very easy to communicate with via WhatsApp and the person who met us at the property was sweet, helpful, and knowledgable about both the apartment and the surrounding neighborhood. All of the rooms in the apartment were giant by Italian standards. The apartment was heated prior to our arrival which we appreciated on a cold, wet day with our two-year-old. The neighborhood is walking distance to all major sites and some amazing restaurants.

RomaniaOne of the bedrooms does not have a door (which is a little inconvenient, because it communicates with the living area). Also, the furniture on the terrace would need a little updating.
The apartment is centrally located, with easy access to the public transportation, main interest points, restaurants etc. The hosts were nice and helpful. The apartment has a nice terrace and two large bathrooms, a common living area and a large kitchen. The kitchen has all you need for preparing a meal. The place is suited for a family, but also for couples.

United KingdomLocation convenient but on the corner of a square used by university students and VERY noisy in the evenings. Double glazing helped but that meant having to keep the windows closed. Apt listed for 6 people but short of equipment - coat hangers, mugs, glasses, cutlery etc. not be enough for 6 people.
Apartment was absolutely spotless and very spacious - lovely outside terrace at the back which was great.

United KingdomA little noisy at night - particularly at the weekend. Air conditioning, although appreciated was also a little noisy.
We loved the outside space which enabled us to breakfast and have evening drinks in the fresh air.

United StatesVery, very noisy at night. Heart of university area and the students party hardy. No elevator. We stayed for 2 weeks. Could have used more toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags to start. We made arrangements with Studio Vita for a taxi to pick us up in the morning at 8:45 to take us to the railroad station. Taxi never showed up. Tried calling Studion Vita before 9:00 but no one answered because they do not open until 9:00. When I reached them they tried to get us a taxi. We ended up walking to the train station and made our 9:30 train. Not really their fault. However, a number of people told us there is a taxi issue in Bologna, if we had known that we would have planned to walk in the first place.
The location was excellent. On the negative side the apartment is on Piazza Verdi right above a Caffe with outdoor seating. It was very noisy, even with shutters and excellent windows. Bring ear plugs if you stay there. Nice sized bedrooms and the living area was very nicely sized. Water pressure good and showers were nice. Many very good restaurants in the area. Also good apitivo. Easy 20 minute walk to railroad station.

United KingdomNoise at night is a real problem in this property. The bedrooms are above a very popular student bar next to a large square in the centre of the university area. It was the start of term and the evenings were warm so there were students outside socialising. There was live music, drumming and shouting until 3.00 am ! And then the street cleaners came at 4.00 am with noisy equipment, bottle recycling and washing the square and then the bar staff arrived about 7.00 to set out tables !! It was very difficult to sleep - earplugs cut out some noise but not the music and drumming. One night we moved mattresses to sleep in the living area at the back of the flat but nothing really worked.
Spacious flat, very well equipped and the sunny terrace was a great bonus. The position was very convenient for sightseeing and near good restaurants but very noisy at night.
