Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was a bit of a smell in the bathroom, probably due to plumbing issues in the building. The bathroom was clean and plumbing worked as it should. I kept the door closed and aired out the bed room so it didn't cause me any issues.
Good location near the train station. Room was comfortable. Liked the tiled floor. Some nice restaurants were near by.

GermanyLocation though very central due to proximity to railway station immediately outside hotel not a comfortable environment but eventually safe enough. Due to noise of large road junction and Naples people horn more than they drive you can’t keep windows open.
Very centrally located in direct vicinity of railway station. Good value for money. Large room with tall ceiling and well functioning air conditioning.

United KingdomYes the area isn't great and there are definately groups hanging out in the square. We came home most nights after dark and although there were people hanging about no one caused any trouble. I would say the pros far outweigh any cons and I wouldn't hesitate to book and stay again.
The hotel is in a great location, literally opposite the station and a 20euro drive from the airport. All major attractions were within walking distance even for our 9 and 10 year old. We atayed in a family room for 4 and the room itself was amazing, on the top floor with a huge balcony overlooking vesuvius. Seperate room for the kids to sleep in, free WiFi, air conditioning, and super comfy beds! The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. The breakfast provided a good start to the day and overall we couldn't have asked for more.

EstoniaThe parking was slightly far away from the hotel and was challenging to access - however this is a trade-off of the location which is very central in Naples (a very busy historic city). The breakfast was a bit chaotic and items which ran out were not replaced.
We had a great room on the top floor with a large balcony that provided a view onto Mount Vesuvius. The rooms were spacious and fit our family of four very nicely.

TurkeyThe hotel is in very central location on the Garibaldi Square. It is in a historic building with high ceilings, and the rooms were newly decorated. The building has a roof terrace overlooking the town, the sea and Mount Vesuvius. The location is in walking distance from the historic center of Napoli. You can also reach some of the famous pizzerias by foot. Getting to the hotel was quite easy as well. It is on the same square with the central train station and there are bus and shared taxi service from the Airport to the central station only for 5 Euro/person. We have rented a car from central station and that was also easy to pick up and return.

BelgiumVery dirty corridors between rooms; No coffee/tea kettle in the room; Stuff is old; Our room was facing the main square and it was very noisy at night; (Not something the hotel can do about) Piazza Garibaldi is without exaggeration one of the most disgusting places I have been to
Located in an old Italian building, a room is spacious with enormous ceilings. It is just next to the main station, which was what we needed.

United KingdomAs this is located near the centre the road is busy and you can hear lots of cars and noise from the street even though we were high up on the third floor. Curtains were not that dark so woke up early as the sun rose.
The staff were really helpful and kind. They were excellent at speaking English for us. The room had air con on a warm week and the roof terrace is really something to see. All the facilities were exceptional. Ideal location to get to lots of restaurants and to view the area.

NetherlandsLocation is 'dodgy' (as in most cities around the central station) and room was outdated. Bed sagged and creaked, many smears on the walls from smashed mosquitos and no soundproofing whatsoever.
Helpful and friendly staff at reception, great personal terrace to the room (apart from the terrace that was open to all guests) with wide views over Vesuvius and the city, excellent location for our early morning train with pasticceria across the street open from 6 am. Option to buy things from beer to toothpaste at reception very handy.
