Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyAll good
A gem. We were here last year too. A charming family run hotel in Barolo. Beautiful location set among the vineyards with a fantastic view over the village of Barolo and the castle. They are so friendly and welcoming and the hotel has a very warm feeling. An elevated terrace to enjoy a glass of wine with a view. A terrace adjoining the breakfast room so you can sit outside. The wine cellar is extensive, I can only recommend you take the tour. The rooms are comfortable, nothing too fancy. Practical, clean and typical for the style of the region. Our room had a balcony overlooking the vineyards. There are two houses. I personally prefer the Barolo Classico as the room height is more generous and allows for cooler room temperature. Breakfast is plentiful with fresh products and good bread. We also dined at the restaurant which is also highly recommendable. I would come back here anytime and am looking forward to my next visit.

GreeceThe bed cover doubled as a light duvet, our washbasin piping leaked and the pedal of the pedal bin was broken. We were meant to have a balcony, but didn't.
A comfortable room that included a sofa and coffee table. A comfortable bed. The bathroom was fitted with a spa bath and all the necessary utilities were included. Good breakfast. We had a lovely view of the town of Barolo from our windows. Just a couple of minutes on foot from the centre. Lots of parking space.

United StatesThe rooms could use a little updating.
Great breakfast and the hotel restaurant was excellent. Make sure you meet Antonio, the waiter superiore. The winery tasting room is in the hotel. Be sure to make a reservation, it was well worth it.

BelgiumYou need to wear a swimming cap in the pool but I think it's pretty common in Italy. The rooms are a bit older but that was not a problem for me.
The views are nice, you have the view of the city + vineyards. It's super close to the center of Barolo with great wine tasting options. Their restaurant offered great food + great view. The pool is nice and pretty big.

United StatesBeds/bedding is slightly outdated but clean
The location and hotel was great. Very charming hotel, traditional design but very clean throughout. Once we arrived to the hotel driving through the stunning views of Piedmonte vineyards and hills, we liked that it was then very easily walkable into the equally charming town of Barolo with restaurants and shops. The restaurant on site was tasty and well-priced, plus had a great view of the town, hills and vineyards from the large open terrace. We joined for the included breakfast and the breakfast was lovely as well. Location was also good for visits to other towns. We would love to visit again.

NorwayHotel Barolo is the perfect place to spend some days in the beautiful Piedmont region. Here you have comfortable rooms, positive and helpful staff, a good restaurant and wines from their own production. Best of all, there is an outdoors swimming pool. Great for hot, sunny afternoons!

FranceThey have a problem with the electrics in the rooms. There is a fuse box in each room with equipment inside that buzzes. It makes sleeping hard. Some rooms have a loud noise, some low. They changes my room for one with less noise after I complained that I didn't sleep, but no apology and it was obvious they know about the issue.
Location is excellent and also its nice to have a pool and the pool even has a view!

United StatesDoor didn’t lock well Or easily. The safe was closed and not able to use. The worst part was the A/C didn’t work. They had a portable unit but you have to open the door to put the big flexible tube outside. Inefficient because hot air comes in. The machine was noisy and the motor of the machine put off a lot of heat so it was inefficient and ineffective! Uses a lot of energy but doesn’t cool! Not good for money or the environment! They subtracted some money from my bill. I should have asked if they had a fan. The room felt like an oven. They had a bright light on the balcony on a timer off at midnight that was annoying. Church bells ring loud. Shower bathtub faucet inefficient. Couldn’t change from bathtub spout to hand held shower without bathtub spout also running. Wastes water If you have a hotel and restaurant you should be friendly, warm, kind and helpful. It’s a hospitality business. Some staff were a little rude. Not good for a hotel and restaurant. Would be great if they fixed the issues. Wouldn’t take too much to fix the issues.
Great location. Nice, clean pool. Great because the weather was so hot. Had Lifeguard. Restaurant had big terrazzo with view. There was inside dining also. Restaurant food was very good! Waiters Professional and polite. Breakfast was good. In different location of hotel. Room had some issues. They have their own wine/winery.
