How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The checkin is automated and there is no stuff at reception so if you need something you have to message them….. and it can take some time to get a reply from them sometimes.

Only one iron and it was taken by one room and so I was at a disadvantage of not having access to ironing my clothes. Quite selfish of the room guest and also a little inconsiderate of the receptionist not to be assertive. I felt like I wasn’t treated fairly. All guests should be treated with the same hospitality.
I loved the room and the details of the room from the beautiful bathroom to the towels, to the wallpaper and bed linen. Very nice decor and very clean. I also liked that there was water in the fridge with a little note that said from us to you.

Noisy due to privileged centered location, room not as pretty as the pictures, heating not working, sent message to manager that did not answer. I would go back and even recommend, but maybe next time I would spend more time looking for alternatives.
Great location and walking distance to all Florence tourist attractions.

It has a great location only 2-3 minutes to Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. Well managed facility and clean rooms. It has a great terrace view. Shaving kits and shoe polishers are also thoughtful matters. A good price/performance facility

I like the cranky old lift, but not everyone might agree.
The hotel was in a convenient place, 5 minutes' walk from the station, but, being five floors up, you felt a long way from the hurly-burly of the streets outside. The room had a good view across Florence but the best part was the panoramic view from the rooftop. It is an unusual hotel in that it has an ancient lift to get to the top floor and the reception is not staffed for much of the time, but that doesn't really matter.

The electric roller blind was housed in a wooden box which was not sound insulated so you could hear all the street noise below which at 02.00hrs was not great!
Room was lovely and near the top of the hotel, the roof terrace was a real bonus and fab to sit and look over the city, especially at night. Good location to explore the city from.

The bed was very hard!! The shower is perfect for men that wash their hair but for woman that want to wash thier body was challenging. The cover over the bed wasn’t the best. After I booked I realised that if I had booked directly through the website I would have saved €90 euros!!

The reception was not staffed while we were there. It did not bother us but might bother others.
Very central location and super close to the train from the airport and to the central station. Really close to walk into the city centre. High standard inside the room with modern furniture, a big TV and a nice bathroom. Great lockers to leave your bags after checkout.

Step up into bathroom in our room, bathroom door didn’t close fully or lock easily.
Location is fab. Very quiet indeed both for outside and inside noise. Comfy beds. Lovely cleaning lady! Terrace comfy and great views. Clean; decent sized rooms by Italian standards. Air con. Great view from our room.

Too hot for the sauna! A cold tub would have been better.

The dome is not really the so-called duomo of the santa maria del fiore. It is that of the medici chapel. That being said, it was good enough to enjoy the city from the room.
I went to the hotel for 3 days on my holiday and I could enjoy a calm, pleasant view of Florence from the balcony. It was an amazing experience to see the sunset with unbroken view of the beautiful cityscape.
