Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoldovaA little inconvenient to get to the city, got lost on my way (maybe it's a me problem, sorry!)
Incredible work of all staff I met, very polite and approachable, offered great recommendations for restaurants when asked. The bed in the room was incredible, easily one of the best sleeps I've gotten when travelling. The bathroom was clean and spacious, offered plenty of towels too. Noise cancellation was also good - did not hear a whisper of my neughbours.

GermanyOnly a couple of minor things- first, a cup and a kettle in the room would have been very much appreciated. Although the journey to the centre is probably less than half an hour, it does involve both a bus ride and the Metro. It's very easy, but might not suit everyone. Lastly, we arrived back at around midnight and the front door was locked, with no staff member at the desk. Luckily for us, a student was having a pizza delivered at that moment so let us in, but otherwise I don't know what we would have done.
The room was huge and very comfortable- I haven't had such a good sleep in a long time. Having a balcony with a view across the city was an unexpected bonus. The staff were friendly and efficient. Having somewhere relatively close to the centre of Milan with free parking is a massive plus. I would definitely stay there again, very happily.

Franceit is very far from the center of Milan, which should be avoided if you are sightseeing the rooms are not well soundproofed, you can easily hear people opening and closing the doors of the rooms next door
The place is well designed, with lots of common spaces and the rooms are large, the staff are very welcoming and the concierge is open 24 hours a day

United KingdomThere were no plates in the kitchen. Check out time should be extended for those who have late flights, my flight was by 23:30 and by 12 noon I was asked to check out..So just wandering around for hours wasn't nice. The AC comes on and off and its really noisy..it should be fixed.
The location was away from the city centre but very easy to get to. The staff were nice and polite. They helped keep my luggage safe on checkout till it was time for me to leave.

SloveniaSometimes it takes a long time to get down from the floor because there is just one elevator, but this is a minor thing really.
Very good value for money - for Milano. The room is big, and has everything one might need if you consider it a student-oriented place. Public transport is very near, in our experience, you should get anywhere important in less than 45min - walking included.

GreeceThe personnel was very helpful. They let us leave our luggages in their area after we checked out, so that we could walk around the city. There is a free of charge private parking in front of the hotel and not in the street. The location is ok, 17min walk to the Lambrate metro station and from there 15min to Duomo station. Or you can drive directly to Lambrate station since there is a very big and free of charge parking next to it.
