Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandNothing to say
Breakfast was excellent with variety of products: cold meats, dairy products, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, crossoints served with different fillings, juices, tea, coffee, fresh fruit: bananas, watermelons, melons, plums, apples, oranges, peaches and delicious cakes and cookies to start a splendid day with the perfect view overlooking the lagoon. During breakfast guests are accompanied by the wonderful, caring hosts who take care of them all the time making sure that everything is perfect. As for the room itself, we were satisfied as well. There was a comfy bed, a small fridge, a tv, a safe, toiletries in the bathroom. The room was cleaned every day by very nice room maids who left it clean and fresh. We had a beautiful view of the lagoon and what is more the place is strategic-it is close to the sea with sandy beaches, different shops, monuments, restaurants - everything within a walking distance. Even if the weather can be sometimes changeable there is always something going on in town. There is also a possibility to park a car at the hotel off the street parking lot for some additional money which was quite convenient but it is advisory to book a place. All in all, we are really satisfied that we could stay in the hotel Carol hoping that we will manage to go there next year. Thank you so much for such an unforgetable experience!!!

United KingdomI don't know.
The hotel has a large breakfast area, a nice large terrace and bedrooms overlooking the lagoon. The beach is only about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

United KingdomThe hotel is on a busy road so there was some street noise. If you are happy to keep your window shut then it is not a problem. It was only really noticeable at night and when sitting out on the balcony not a problem at all.
This is a very nice hotel with very nice owners. The room was a good size and the a/c unit worked very well (it’s really quiet). There were proper shutters at the windows. Breakfast was great and good value for money. It’s a short walk to the beach (about 5 mins) and maybe 10 - 15 mins to the centre with restaurants. The old town centre is probably another 5 mins so the hotel is in a good location. The view over the Laguna was lovely

AustriaSadly, you have to pay for the beach, even if you don't even want/need chairs or umbrella.
Staff was extremely frienddly, helped us with check in, parking the motorcycle and luggage. It is owned by a very nice family and you can see that they are passionate about their job and love hosting people from all over the world. Breakfast was a homemade buffet, everything tasted very good. Would definitely come again!

SwitzerlandThe main light in the room was a bit too blue/cold, however since we only slept in it and mostly used the bedside lamps, this was no real issue for us.
Very friendly, helpful and attentive owner family. We have felt very welcome immediately. The breakfast room had a nice view and was nicely decorated, the buffet was wonderful and we did not miss anything. The room was small but cosy, very clean and had everything we needed. For this price, definitely a bargain!

SlovakiaGreat location. Within walking distance of everything downtown and the main beach. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. As it’s family-owned and operated, you don’t get the routine chain hotel vibe. Would definitely stay there again.

Norwaynothing not to like
Big room ( we had number 29), very quiet air-con, balcony with chairs, coffee and cornettos in the morning. The room was not only reasonable big it was cleverly furnished, we really liked the open spaces to hang our clothes, (many closets and cupboards gets really damp in the warm season.) The hotel also had bicycles for rent. Good value for money, of course it helps that Grado is a very pleasant little town, with a good atmosphere

SwitzerlandThe host was very nice and the room was clean. Just be aware there’s some hiddden fee wasn’t told when you check in. Like renting bicycle, when the host borrow the bicycles, she didn’t say there’s a daily cost. When we check out and pay, then we’d been ask to pay the extra fee of renting bicycles and it’s a daily cost, which is unexpected! Otherwise the hotel is quite okay!

AustriaWe paid for the breakfast (it was included in the rate), but the owners told us they could only give us a croissant and a coffee because a breakfast buffet, which they normally have, is not allowed due to COVID-19. This was weird because in the other 5 hotels where we stayed (same region) buffets were no problem. I didn’t like this because I’m gluten-free and can’t eat a croissant… The rooms in the first floor are very loud because they are close to the reception. You can also hear traffic. So if you don’t mind being woken up around 7.30, no big deal!
It was very clean, beautiful view and very nice owners.
