Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe numerous and steep stairs up to the villa from the ferry landing are a challenge, get porter service from ferry landing to carry luggage ($15 euro cash each way). Older or unfit people (especially those with mobility issues) are not advised to stay mainly because of stairs up to villa from town centre and the couple of steep flights from villa to roadway (more manageable) for cafes and shops. However, there are two restaurants only a few steps away from the villa with good food and views - check prices (both expensive). Younger and/or fit people could manage (but not with luggage) and would enjoy their stay because of the views from villa.
Beautiful views from upstairs bedroom, sitting room and broad balcony looking over town, ferry terminal and sea. The weather was fine in mid-October so we had breakfast and lunch around table on balcony. The main bedroom was very comfortable, the third guest slept on sofa bed in living area because downstairs bedroom. although well appointed had no view.

United StatesThe Wi-Fi downstairs isn’t great, but we weren’t there to surf the internet so didn’t bother us much.
Everything about my stay at Casa Bouganville was top notch - from the the space itself to the location. Nunzia was also very helpful (there was a big storm and we lost power for a bit).

AustraliaThe showers leaked consistently along with an ant problem. Having stayed in Positano multiple times I have only ever encountered friendly and hospitable people, unfortunately our first interaction with Nunzia was not pleasant. Having travelled for 5 hours in the heat we were met by the porters who collected our baggage from the port and advised that our bags would arrive at the room in 40 minutes which was perfectly fine. We stopped to get a drink as were hot and tired. We had advised Nunzia that we had arrived. Nunzia called and was extremely abusive on the phone that her daughter was waiting at the property with the key. I explained that we were just getting a drink. Nunzia continued to yell over the top of me advising that we weren’t staying at a hotel and we cannot just come and go whenever we please. Quite frankly for the price we paid for the 4 nights we should be able to come and go whenever we want. in the end the key was left with the cleaner who was very kind and hospitable and it wasn’t a problem. we did not see or hear from Nunzia the whole time we were at the property. I will also note that when my friend who speaks Italian spoke to her, her tone changed quite dramatically. overall the view is amazing and Positano is beautiful however Nunzia should be nicer to her guests who are paying her quite a significant amount of money to stay there.

IndiaWifi works only one the ground floor , so the two rooms upstairs dont hv wifi connection & a full sized mirror would have been well appreciated!
The best property i have ever stayed at !!! The views from two rooms are magical , the whole of positano in front of u ( spiaggia grande beach , the mediterranean sea & the beautiful houses on the cliff). Nunzia accompanied us from the taxi stop to the bnb. There were around 200 stairs , was a little difficult with the luggages but then thats positano for you!!She allowed us an early check in , gave us 2 bottles of mineral water ( didnt recieve anywhere in italy) & the facilities in the casa bouganvilla was outstanding!!! Kitchen had everything needed , a dishwasher , washing machine , music speaker , iron & stand , towels , shampoos soaps , literally u name it & u have it !! 3 bedrooms , 2 dining tables , 1 huge hall , 1 kitchen & 3 bathrooms , my family of 4 had our best time here!Would recommend it to every single person visiting positano

The location is beyond perfect! just high enough to have a wonderful view and not have to take a million stairs. The sheets have been updated and it’s like being at a hotel. All white linens which are a huge plus in my book.

United KingdomNot a problem for me but someone should know that there are many stairs that you have to take to reach the house. However this is the case for whole Positano. One thing that I didn't like and it wasn't about the house itself but the nearest parking place was about 20 mins walk on a hill and they were charging 70 euros per day in an off season period (April). During full season expect 100-120 euros per day to park your car and that if you're lucky enough to find a place.. so pre-book your parking spot. Overall in my opinion, avoid the whole Amalfi coast during summer because it will be packed and it's such a beautiful scenery that you can't enjoy with all that people. Spring is the best period to visit and autumn next.
Amazing place with 3 rooms and 3 bathrooms. The 2 rooms have an amazing view of whole Positano! The third room is at first floor so it doesn't have a view but it's big and nice as well. We got some mozzarela and prosciutto and they provided us espresso and we enjoyed our breakfast everyday with an awesome view! It's in the village of positano so everything is in walking distance. The port is close so you can take the boat to capri let's say.

United KingdomVery clean! Beautifully furnished with a classic Italian feel. The locations was perfect - high enough up to have spectacular views from the balcony, but low enough for so there aren’t to be too many steps! There were 4 of us staying and the place was enormous, plenty of room for 7 (max capacity). The master bedroom was upstairs, it’s beautiful and huge with a balcony looking out over Positano. The second room is smaller (plenty of room for two people) and downstairs so obviously doesn’t have the views, but still, as the rest of the villa, beautifully decorated. The two rooms have en suites and then there is an additional bathroom upstairs.

United KingdomI honestly can’t fault this place and if I had to make a suggestion, I’d only say the property would benefit from having a full length mirror somewhere. There’s plenty of room for it for sure!
Fantastic views from the terrace, which gets plenty of sun but is also covered so can be enjoyed if raining. The photos here don’t even give it justice. Easy to access with steps from the main road and easy to get down to the beach and city centre, all within less than 10 mins. Lots of steps but no more than anywhere else, since Positano is a cliff town. So be prepared for a lot of exercise. If that’s a struggle, the only solution is to stay somewhere on the main road, with a lift if any mobility issues, and that’s it. Everywhere else, including the beach, is only accessible via stairs. Lots of character throughout the house, with local art, paintings, sculptures and ornaments. Large en-suite bedroom and lounge/bedroom upstairs, both with great views and access to the terrace. Good sized, fully functional bathrooms. Small kitchen upstairs, but well equipped and organised. The downstairs living/dining area and en-suite bedroom is a good place to cool down after a hot day, as it doesn’t get any sun. People walking past outside can be a bit noisy during the day, but not much and tend to be quite civilised and quiet at night. The owner, host and cleaner are really lovely, flexible and readily available. I had a very good time staying there and felt right at home with so much space and the many little touches.
