Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe stayed here for 4 nights and it was great. The hotel is small in a cool old building with a very boutique hotel vibe. The staff are amazing, always friendly and eager to help. They delivered juice and pastries to the room every morning. Convenient coffee machine and beverages included in the room, including milk warmer to make cappuccino. The hotel doesn’t have an elevator so you do need to take the stairs and the hotel staff help with the bags. Rooms were very clean and the location was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back on our next trip to Rome.

United KingdomThe setting of the room is a little strange as the sink is in the actual room and outside the toilet/shower area. So that’s a bit awkward since you don’t get privacy. I always need my privacy when washing up, and it also creates a mess when the sink is so deep and water spills on the counter right next to bed.
It was the perfect location, great lighting in room and most importantly very clean. Staff we very friendly and helpful, which is very welcoming. The stay was amazing. Thanks particularly to Edward. Please keep it up.

South AfricaWhile reasonably priced for Rome, it was slightly more expensive per night than similar or international hotels in other parts of Italy that we visited.

Qatarthe room and indoors were very dark (we had to turn on the light of our phone for stairs). The doors and separations were problematic; all the noise from guests were inside our bedroom. So, in my view, it was a overpriced hotel with a very good location in Rome.
Location of the property is amazing. One of the best spots in Rome! The philipino receptionist was very helpful and easy to communicate.

ThailandIt’s a little difficult to find, but it was raining so it might of been our negligence.
Warm and friendly welcome. Cool decor and awesome building. Fully stocked mini-bar, amazingly friend staff, perfect location (close to many buses and many attractions / shopping etc.), super comfy bed and great shower. The staff went out of their way to make our trip amazing (they gave us umbrellas when it was raining and just went above and beyond the whole time.)

CanadaThe lighting in the stairwell was very poor. I felt it was dangerous to have the stairs so darkly illuminated. I mentioned this to Patrizia, and her response was a bit of a shrug. She commented that this was a very contemporary-designed facility, as if poor and unsafe lighting was part of contemporary design. To me this is purely a matter of safety. It was quite difficult to see the stairs from the ground floor to the first floor. One misstep could cause a serious injury. The very contemporary bathroom sink had a tricky water tap that was hard to turn off fully, often resulting in water getting on the floor.
The location was excellent, two minutes from Piazza Navona. This is a beautiful, refined area which is convenient to many tourist attractions. I think the location is among the best in Rome. The Pantheon is a short walk away. Patrizia, the owner-manager, and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Patrizia was accommodating in addressing my request for a basin for the sink, as there was no plug or stopper in the sink to close off the drain, a problem for anyone who wears contact lenses. I appreciated this help.
