Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandWe received different room from what we booked.TV was not working, so was the AC. The toilet often didn't want to flush. We needed to ask for toilet paper. The pool is not free, you need to pay extra.
Location is good, the building looks nice.

GreeceThe breakfast was horrible without a proper coffee machine for a filter coffee or a boiler for hot water for tea. The only provided snacks were some "croissants" and small cakes of the lowest quality. We had to go everyday to the nearest cafe-restaurant for breakfast. The room needs refurbishment especially the bathroom.
The location was choosen because of the neighboring Tor Vergata university, which is located 5 stations away from Torre Gaia station. The location is indeed idyllic and safe, close to a single cafe-restaurant and a commercial area with a supermarket, a pet-shop and a pret-a-porter shop, with logical prices. The hotel is quiet and in a residential area close to Torre Gaia Station (metro and bus).

BulgariaThe lights in the bathroom are managed by photocells that can't detect you while taking a shower, making the experience unpleasant. There towels were very old and with hair in them. The room was very small.
Having a metro station nearby. Having a balcony with a small table and chairs.

AustraliaFirst, the host took so long to answer our WhatsApp messages which she told us to message her on, after we called her. Leaving us stand outside on 35 degree day for about 20 minutes. Second, the address is totally wrong on booking.com. The address says it is 37 but it is 37a which is down the side street next to 37. Go right down the end of the lane and there is a tiny sign on the gate saying hotel name. Third, if you copy and paste address into google maps it takes you to a totally different house 450m down the road. This property has alot of potential. They have gone for the shabby chic but unfortunately repairs need to be done. Bedside socket broken, cracked tiles, a lot of mould in the shower we couldn’t use it. Bathroom tap very loose. Sheets on bed were very crumpled-looked like someone else slept in it. Very old towels that need replacing. We booked and paid for parking but it is “first in best dressed” parking in lane way. If you leave the car-spot it may not be available on your return. There is a pool that is $10Euro per person to use. Ridiculous!! Breakfast was poor and very minimal. Just prepackaged horrible cakes/biscuits. Coffee machine filthy. If owner could fix the rooms this place would be fantastic.
Once very good thing was the air conditioning in a 38 degree day. You must press turbo first to make the temperature less. It is set to 23 degrees. Bed was comfortable. Restaurants about a 600m walk. Verandah in room is nice.

HungaryThe room is in a residential building - the walls are extremely thin, so you can hear all your neighbours within the hotel as well as from the surrounding buildings. Nothing is written in English, except the note about the cost of the swimming pool (10 euros per person per day). The 'breakfast' (very minimal, pre-packed supermarket croissant, coffee capsules and juice) is locked up in a room which is opened every morning - except for Sunday, when it was somehow forgotten. There is nobody around, so you can't tell anyone if there is a problem. We met a woman when we arrived, who asked for our documents and for the tax and she was supposed to show us the room - she didn't speak English. The coffee maker is old and leakes everywhere. There is mould all over the bathroom and every time you open the tap or the shower it makes a horrible sound. This place really needs some renovation.
The beds were comfortable, the neighbourhood was safe. Air-conditioner works well.

BrazilMy room was 2 steps from the entrance so I could hear every time someone enter or leave the hotel. I stayed for 3 nights in the hotel and all the nights I was not able to have a good sleep time due the noises from the other rooms, people jumping and talking and moving furniture's from 00 :00 until 15:00. The light in the toilet is horrible and its a automatic one, so if you are going to take a shower, the sensor does not catch you so the light it's always turning off. The reception from the host was very kind and good, unfortunately the problem with the noises made my stay there very bad.
Breakfast ok. Localization of the hotel is very good, 5 minutes walking to the metro. Place is " protected " by a guard and a gate, looks safe.

United KingdomDuring the five days of my stay in this b & b I did not ask for coffee or tea. There was a kettle and a microwave, but a complete lack of any dishes. I recommend the place only because of the distance from the airport, but only for one night, absolutely no more.

CanadaDoor to room could not be locked. Keys did not work…at all, and no attempt was made to remedy…..but what truly was disturbing was all windows were barred and locked. Being a retired 33yr Fire Captain from a major North American city…..it was a wow to see. I do not know Italian Fire Code….but I am sure this is a Nono there too. Very unsettling to see.
Close to transit, for going into Rome….basics were met for 2 nights stay…….but……
