Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy room was small.
Breakfast was excellent and was served immediately. Location was ideal but then, any location in Rome is ideal!! Depends what you want to see first! Location was good as it was near taxis, metro, and bus and tram lines. And a fantastic restaurant just across the road! Delicious food and visited by local Italians which is a good sign of quality!

United KingdomCrazy high price! Very small room which would have been fine, but not at that price. Only soft pillows.
Stunning location - just 90 second walk from the Colosseum. Lovely little roof terrace. Warm croissants at breakfast. 'Interesting' decor which was not my taste but their commitment to the theme throughout was impressive.

United StatesThere is no elevator and we stayed on the third floor so I would advise guests uncomfortable with steps to establish what floor they are on before reserving. Even the second floor has a lot of steps because the ceilings are so high.
Breakfast was very generous and the coffee served promptly. The hotel seems lavishly decorated which sometimes results in a dusty feel but all the surfaces are gleaming and clean. The floors are a sparkly mosaic which helps to lighten the feel. The staff is helpful and gracious. There is an attractive roof top patio. The location a block from the Colosseum with a lot of restaurants and the Metro nearby and a reasonably quite neighborhood worked very well for my husband and I.

HungaryThe breakfast was very rich, however a bit sweet for my taste. The room was too small, it would be more suitable for couples.
Very clean room and a very helpful staff. The hotel was very close to the Colosseum, Forum Romanum and Piazza Venezia so you definitely could get an impression of Rome.

United StatesI liked everything about this quiet hotel so close to her Coliseum. Roberto and his brother have designed a place like it was their own home. Very Roman taste with Frescos and beautiful Mosaics everywhere. Incredadle Breakfast room . Has two large terraces at the top for entertaining or cooling down with a nice drink. Would definitely stay there again. 5 Stars

Francehotel accepts American Express but owner said he didn’t want to pay extra 3% for AMEX. When I told him the hotel sign says you accept AMEX he said everyone has a Visa card anyway, refused to take AMEX. owner also unpleasantly said “you don’t have cash to pay the city tax”. nowhere is this advertised that I needed to pay cash owner chose to charge me in CAD instead of euros, never even asked me and went on a rant on how he has to pay city tax. he clearly didn’t understand he should give his customers the choice of which currency they want to be charged in. Rude and aggressive owner. hotel was nice but owner made it unpleasant. will not return here with the low quality service.

South KoreaThe room was small and dark. Our booking said view of patio but there was no view of any patio from our window. Instead there was some sort of green tent covering a courtyard. The bathroom was tiny. I think a larger person would find this a problem. There was a small area near reception with some sofas. I'm not sure if this was a staff area or not. It felt like I was in their space and not a comfortable place to relax in because of this. So as such there was no lobby or bar area to relax in. There seemed to be only one socket in the room to use to charge phones etc. This was annoying.
The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were left. The breakfast served downstairs was a nice touch and would keep you going for the day. The breakfast staff were very friendly. Excellent location for visiting Colosseum and Colosseum metro stop is walking distance.
