Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLighting in bathroom could have been brighter, but that is a minor concern. Room and beds were comfortable.
We loved the guest house and location - it was close to a bunch of restaurants and parks, we felt very safe in the area, and we could walk everywhere we wanted to. Staff were very helpful. Rooftop patio is amazing, great views, but could use some more comfortable furniture and maybe a table. Overall pretty quiet.

United KingdomThe location is a little far from the sights of Rome by foot.
Charming small boutique hotel in an old villa in the embassy district. The stars of the show are the brothers who run the place. Their passion and enthusiasm is contagious. It feels like staying at an old friend's rambling mansion.

GermanyLovely hosts, beautiful tidy rooms, in a very quiet and lovely area. It is a beautifully 30 min walk to the "main town". Eat a breakfast panini just 1 min walk away and enjoy the walk. The Hotel has an amazing rooftop! Would absolutely recommend this Guesthouse! Thank you so much for your warm welcome and all the Special Tipps!

United StatesWe literally liked everything. No, we LOVED everything. But what was especially wonderful about our experience was our hosts. Stefano and Fabrizio are… Exactly what you want when you are in a foreign city and hope to get the most out of it and enjoy your homebase. We had so much fun just being in Domus Monami. From the moment you arrive it feels like a home that you have been invited into. More practical: Our bed was extremely comfortable. We were able to fully unpack and have things hung and in drawers. Our room itself was light and air filled and gracious. Our bathroom had everything you need with plenty of space for it. The common area for breakfast is filled with history. The building itself is in a truly special location in Trastevere. You are surrounded by embassies and consulates with parks and fountains right nearby. It’s a Wow just walking over to the park near the American University Of Rome, which felt like a fun outdoor museum. Thank you, Stefano and Fabrizio. It was an honor to meet you and to be treated like a good friends while we were there. We see why you call Rome the most beautiful city in the world!

Lovely historical home with loads of character. Felt like a home away from home with wonderful hosts, who did everything they could to make sure we had a fantastic time in Rome. Also the black out blinds in the bedroom resulted in a lovely sleep!

United StatesThe sheets were very thin and cheap, as were the towels. One of our had a huge rip in in. The breakfast was also not very good (boxed and no options for protein or anything hot).
The location is excellent and the site has spacious room and gracious hosts. The blackout blinds and wifi were also good. They had free coffee and tea in the rooms and common area and wonderful views from the deck.

ItalyToo many paintings on the wall. It felt a bit cluttered and distracts from the beauty of the historic building. The lighting especially in the bathroom could be better.

The room was beautiful and bigger than most in Rome. Very welcoming and we had a great introduction and recommendations shown on a map to us . A plethora of restaurants close-by in Trastavere . Wonderful views from the rooftop.

United StatesExtremely friendly hosts that allowed us to check in early to change after a 10 hour flight. Room and facility was beautiful with a lovely artwork and a lot of history. The room is charming. The only downside was the street cleaners coming down the road in the middle of the night as the room sits right on the road. Windows were open to be fair to get circulation in room

Fantastic character property that is the passion of the owners (two brothers). I cannot think of a better place to stay in Rome. The view of the city from the terrace is inspiring. You should stay here if visiting Rome. My son and I felt very welcomed, and we would certainly stay again.
