Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location is out the way so you need a car if you want to go anywhere. There is one restaurant opposite and that is it. No shops. We spent a fortune on taxis. If you want to laze around the pool and that is it then you will like it here. Gin and tonic ranges between 12 and 15 euro depending which bar you order from which gives an idea of how expensive it is. When I asked the bar man to top up the tonic abit he refused and said you can have some more ice! Taxi to the airport or Cefalu is approx 110 euro one way. Not cheap. No kettle in the room. They even charged for the water.
The room was basic but clean. We only had breakfast which was OK but nothing special. The swimming pools were great and very clean. Lots of sun beds and a lovely view. Went on a nice boat trip arranged by Pepe.

United KingdomFood was a little disappointing. In this part of Sicily they depend on Pizzas and Pasta even though well done. But we found when we got to AGrigento the food was vastly better with masses of beautiful fish dishes etc.
Loved the location of the bay and the easy swimming off a ladder into the sea as the coast was rocky. Swimming was a delight and there were masses of places to lie or sit. The pools were large and not too cold tho not as warm as the sea. The gardens were beautiful and altogether it was a wonderful restful place after Palermo. A bit advantage was being near a railway station (though you might need a car to get there.. just a little bit far to walk) and trains to Palermo and cefalu etc. no problem. The food was not particularly good

It is a large hotel with three pools and right on the sea front.

SwitzerlandThe breakfast buffet was very poor and repetitive. The room I had first was with sea view but the entertaining was so loud every evening I had to switch to a room with no view but quitter.
The property is very beautiful, and clean and has fantastic access to the beach. The swimming pools are excellent and clean, and the view on Porticello is spectacular.

United KingdomGuests who are not D Club members are treated very much as 2nd class guests. The restaurant is more like a huge noisy canteen, crowded and staff were slow to clear tables, however the D Club area for dining was much larger and most of the tables were unoccupied. The self service food for breakfast and dinner on offer was appalling , very little choice and staff were slow to refill empty serving trays I’ve stayed in many 4-5* hotels and the I can honestly say this hotel served by the worst food. Also the lower pool bar staff were surly and didn’t seem to be enjoying their work. Towels in bathroom were poor quality. Beach towels were much better quality!
Located on the coast, lovely views of the sea. Large swimming pools, good poolside bar area. Large car park was available, which was good as we had rental car. Otherwise the only way to go to other places was by taxi or 20 minute walk along a dangerous road to the local train station or go on organised tours. Would recommend boat trip along the coast with Pepe who moors his boat on the hotel jetty. Very enjoyable tour along the coast and opportunity to go for a swim.

United KingdomThere is nowhere near the hotel to walk to in the evening. To get water you have to walk 2km along a bad road to the nearest town which isn't very nice or you pay hotel prices. So if you wanted a nice meal outside the hotel there's nowhere to go. The entertainment is very loud and competes with one another when both stages are in use. Earplugs were used in the end. Also worth noting is that it's all in Italian which is fair as very few guests were English, but it meant there was little for us to do in the evening. And, to get the best sunbeds, restaurant tables, etc, you have to pay to be a member of D Club. Staff outside of those in the restaurant were really quite dismissive bordering on rude..
The choice of pools, access to the sea and the gym. The room was a lovely size and very clean.

IrelandThe location is quite isolated. There is nowhere to walk if you do not have a car and numerous taxis are expensive. Some restaurant and bar staff were unfriendly and service was poor.
Stayed in prestige double room with sea view for 7 nights. The complex and views are amazing. The scenery is breathtaking. Big shout out to Jed in the restaurant who was very kind and friendly. Also, Vincenzo the taxi driver and his family. A trip to Cefalu and Palermo is recommended. The tour guide is excellent. One lady spoke excellent English at reception which was a great help.

United KingdomWe booked the prestige room with a sea view, but at night from 11pm-1am, you could hear all the entertainment booming out of the speakers downstairs. we were moved into another room around the back of the hotel which was much quieter and still had a sea view. a 5-minute shuttle from the hotel to the train station would be helpful as we walked 20 minutes on a very uneven and dangerous road the first time and every time we wanted to go out of the hotel, we’d have to pay 20€ return for a taxi for a five minute journey. wouldn’t stay again unfortunately

United KingdomSome of the staff in the pool bar were lack lustre. You could die from dehydration before they finish chatting and come out to see if you want something.
Amazing pools and seaside location. Facilities were great. Food a breakfast and dinner were good and you get a bottle of water and wine on the table a dinner which was a nice touch. This hotel is very Italian so don’t go there if you are looking for Britain abroad.

Saudi ArabiaStaff are a little stiff and unhelpful.
Beautiful property with stunning pools and seaside amenities. It was a pleasure to suntan next to the sea and dip in occasionally. The property is part of a fractional ownership scheme and owners are treated differently to visitors which leaves one feeling like the poor cousin. Location is great if you don’t want to explore the area but it is a 1,5km walk to the Santa Flavia train station and a bit further to the closest town.

Our stay included breakfast and dinner which were good. The facilities were also good. Many guests enjoyed the beach beds along three big swimming pools and their private beach. That was the most advantage of this hotel.

United Kingdomwifi...indoors it was fine but anywhere outdoors and it disappeared (even on the balcony). The breakfast was nice but not great. The fruit needed to be more varied from apples and pears. We thought there was tennis from original advertisement but there is no court and nearby sport is non-existent other than gym and sea. Maybe a couple of spa treatments and more info in the room about what is available would have been welcomed.
Location was great. Right on the sea, near a train station and main road (we had a car). There are loads of restaurants and cafes within easy reach (particularly with a car) and the commune of Santa Flavia is mainly fishing based and unspoiled which we liked. Loved the pools particularly the salt water pool but the access to the sea was the best. Fantastic snorkelling. Loads of sun loungers and easy access to a bar for any type of refreshment. Lots of space and lush greenery. And lots of clean, well kept WCs in easy reach.

United KingdomThe inflation of prices that they put on some items knowing you were a 20 min walk to the nearest shop. If you aren't driving its a long walk on a very busy road with very little pavement. The staff at the pool bar weren't very attentive and didn't seems to have a system in place. There was a mini fridge in the room but it didn't work and the rooms needed a lick of paint. Not a lot of options at dinner
The area was beautiful very quiet. With a great view Bed was comfy the air con was excellent and actually worked Poolside was quiet if you were at the top pool, with free towels which was helpful. The entertainment even though not really our taste was a good high standard
