Friendly staff, good service, clean room

The staff were friendly and helpful but more importantl, everyone seemed to know what they were doing at all times. The busy breakfast room worked like clockwork because the staff were replenshing plates, clearing tables as soon as they were free and happy to help guests with coffees etc without a murmur. The pool area was clean and well organised - the life guards were on hand to help with towels and putting up umbrellas etc. The restaurant food was excellent and not over priced.

Air conditioning not working. It was impossible to operate air conditioning system ourselves in the room. Turning it on/off we must all the time ask the reception. The breakfasts was very repetitive and few things to choose from. Generally, old hotel which needs renovation.

It’s tired, some staff were VERY miserable. the location around it is very poor, dirty and very unappealing. Catania is not a place I would return to. Nothing for older kids to do.

the view was spectacular, the breakfast excellent. the property needs upgrading - some of the rooms are outdated. the sea and snorkelling was great. great pool area.

generally staff were friendly, however there were few that were very rude. it was not easy to get recommendations from reception on places to visit, resturants, or excursions. the resturant needs to revamp. we had lunch and the food was mainly frozen and very limited choices.

The hotel is classical (not modern) good facilities and comfortable rooms. the pool area is nice and cozy and the location allows you to visit multiple destinations (by car)

The hotel sometimes hosts parties in the evening. The music reduces the tranquillity of the hotel garden. But the management was very helpful to find a solution that satisfied us.

Lovely location, lovely seaview, great swimming in the sea with easy access to the rocky shore with a safe entry into the water.

- Annoying to have to call about your air con and not be able to change it yourself - some of the prices were not ok - 11 euros for a small dessert wine and 11 euros for a small piece of cake that was then also out for breakfast the next day - Sadly the hotel charge extra for sun beds on the beach in the day, consequently they were not being used - seems like another naughty charge

- The view and setting is truly amazing - drinks overlooking the sunset cannot be beaten. The rocky hotel beach is also very cool - The rooms are clean and comfortable and the shower and bath good quality - The quality of the restaurant food was very good and the staff were helpful and lovely (for those saying they didn’t speak good English, google translate exists)

You needed to go to the front desk to ask them to turn on the air conditioning. And it kept turning off after a while and you again needed to go back to ask. The restaurant staff did not know ANY English and you needed to ask for every single thing. Can I get a spoon with my tea, can I get a glass with my water etc.

The view was stunning, the rooms were clean and bed very comfortable. There was wonderful live music at the pool bar on Friday. There were plenty of sun beds and you got a clean towel to hang out at the pool.

Decent breakfast and also I got one to go when I left early the next day. The scenery is great. The staff help out with ironing a shirt, since no irons are allowed or provided to the rooms

Due to precautions in place due to the coronavirus, the spa and indoor pool were closed. Rather disappointing. Breakfast didn't meet my expectations either. The choice of food was limited and everything was served - again due to coronavirus - which was understandable, but involved long waits when there was no-one around to serve. At least it was a great opportunity to practise my Italian, having to ask for everything.

I chose the hotel for it's location, set up on the rocks overlooking the sea. It was perfect. The room was also lovely - spacious, comfy and clean, although the promised sea view was somewhat disappointing. As it was Christmas, the hotel was nearly empty, and we were given VIP service in the bar and the restaurant by Salvo. Thank you so much.

One couldn't get down to the water's edge (I suppose it was for safety's sake). A mosquito kept buzzing part of the night. The indoor pool was out of use - due to covid restrictions.

A superb location on the outskirts of Catania (a car is very helpful to access it), by a rocky shore. The room was more like a suite with a gorgeous view on the pool and the sea. Very few guests gave it a quaint feel. The sound of sea waves pounding the cliffs was so wonderful. One could hear it at night for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was plentiful. Overall this large facility has certainly a "grand" feel to it, albeit a little tired aura, past its glory days ( I suppose it's livelier in the summer). A nice decor. Good parking.

The food at breakfast could be more Mediterranean and Sicilian with more vegetables and better selection of cheese. However all in all the breakfast was good with great view to volcano rocks and the sea.

It was an off-season stay, quiet, just few guests. The room was upgraded by reception, it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was served according to the rules of pandemics. Freshly made excellent cappuchino served at breakfast.

This was our second room used by a single elderly person. The shower was over the bath and so it was difficult to get in and out of.

Great room for a single person apart from the shower. View of garden. Was supposed to be a standard room but apparently it was upgraded so I can't comment on the standard room. Breakfast great. Staff excellent, view excellent, location excellent, lots of car parking.

The hotel in parts is tired and needs attention to detail. Some parts are beautiful and relaxing, other parts in room including shower silicone, black, yellow and green detracts from the rest of the room. The rooms were a long way from the restaurant and breakfast room. Our initial room was a little small for our group and we wanted a shower box and a double sofa bed. Not all rooms have a shower, instead a shower over bath. Not great if you are elderly. The Gym and wet spa areas were closed while we were there.

We changed our inital room, to the junior suite which was much larger with a high ceiling and a large wide shower and bathroom. It had a double sofa bed instead of the narrow single in the triple room with sea view. We would recommend the junior suite. The bed was enormous and very comfortable with soft pillows. The staff on reception and the night porter were more than excellent and patient. They are to be commended. The restaurant menu was limited but after initially saying no to requests they surprised us and made some vegetables to accomodate specific allergies. We appreciated this service. Staff there were very professional. We were there in winter so pool closed and unfortunately gym and spa too. The view is terrific and summer with the terraces leading to the sea must be fabulous. There's even a lava rock bridge formation over the sea and a dive school on site. The hotel is also pet friendly. The breakfast buffet is great. Lots of options.
