Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Serbiathere was no blanket and the plaid is detached from the sheet. there is no normal solid soap in the toilet, the water in the shower and sink drains does not flush, the shower doors stick, for 94€ per night this is too much...
The place was pretty quiet, the breakfast wasn't included, but we got jam and snack.

MontenegroNo wi fi in the room, just in the toilet. I asked a host to call a taxi for us to schedule it for the drive to the airport, and she sent a pic of an app from the internet (simple request that all the receptionists do for their guests) and she couldn’t.

AustraliaParking was tricky as there is only street parking available. Also getting luggage upstairs was difficult as the lift wasn’t working.
The room was simple with basic facilities, but was mostly clean and tidy. The staff were accommodating and assisted with a later check-in around 9pm. This is a reasonable option for affordable accommodation in Rome, but it does require travel to central points of interest.

United KingdomTo get from the street to the bedroom requires 4 keys, a few of which we repeatedly struggled with unlocking. This was also made difficult when leaving as we required the keys to leave but at the same time needed to leave them in reception which meant one of us had to go outside and hold the gate open for 5 minutes as the other went back in to return the keys. The inside door handle was lose in our room and fell off multiple times. Limited toiletry accessories were provided which made it quite difficult - there should be extras kept in reception for guests, as well as bin bags. We had requested a twin room but upon arrival had two beds pushed together which meant we had to separate the beds and fashion makeshift sheets between us. Some corners of the bathroom were not fully cleaned, but this was a minor issue. We had some difficulty on the night of our arrival with the bedroom door lock which took us over 30 minutes to resolve. The staff were helpful (via text) but it was slightly worrying that we couldn’t manage to lock our door.
The hotel was in a secure and quiet location near lots of small eateries. The AC and TV were both very useful and the shower nice. The check in process was straightforward and the staff responsive to issues. As a relatively cheap place to stay it did the job and we had no significant issues. The area in general was very pleasant (albeit about a mile from the centre and not the easiest to commute from) and near a nice local park and fabulous churches and restaurants. The safe was easy to use and and the large fridge convenient and needed.

South AfricaThe safe was not working, even though there was a big notice saying they take no responsibility for your belongings and that using the safe is highly recommended. You have to take out your own trash after your stay. The floor of the shower leaked which led to the whole bathroom floor being wet after showering.
They provided coffee, tea with bread and nutella for breakfast. They allowed us to store our bags from 10:30.

GeorgiaEverything is easy to access once they give you the keys. But when going for the first time a bit hard to find, the button to ring to open the gate was not working so we had to wait outside for someone to open it. Also, there are many entrances in the yard and you might have trouble finding the right one
The room is clean with all the needed stuff and good wifi connection. The host is very friendly. There was not any noise in the rooms. The neighborhood is very beautiful. You can walk to the nearest metro station in about 10 minutes

ColombiaThe hotel is located in a housing complex an the main entrance was really dirty with 2 or 3 dumpsters and there was a terrible smell. The hotel is far from that, but anyways you smell that every time you want to go out or get inside the complex. Also the instructions to get to the hotel were not very clear and we had to ask a lady that lived there (complex).
it was clean and there are several cafes and supermarkets nearby

the price-value is absolutely on point. there are some busses going directly to trastevere and the metro to the city center close to the accommodation. also we were allowed to leave our baggage after we checked out and got an extra key to get back into the building, which was really really nice

PortugalWe arrived and there was a mix with the rooms. We had to leave the things in a room, at check in hours, that was previously going to be clean. We texted the owner just to ask if it would be possible to leave the bags earlier and got no response until it was time to check in. We then got some angry texts from the owner on WhatsApp (which I did not give permission to be contacted through), saying that they are not a hotel and that we need to read the rules, and that these things would make them look bad even though it’s not their fault. Also, the lady in the front desk burst open into a room that people were in, didn’t even knock, so I advise you to lock the door from the inside. Moreover, we were told to read the rules, but no where is said how much you have to pay for city tax, and they ask you for 7€ per night.
The location is perfect to walk around town.

GermanySome more informations about how to just find the place (opposite "Cor Jesus"-school, enter gate, left, left, second floor) and transport system (there is also a bus station in Gerusalemme-street) would have been useful.
Everything was just easy and friendly. The Tram 5/14 from Maria-Maggiore-Place is really close and useful (Termini, change to Metro there). But walking to Metrostation Giovanni is also possible. We liked the churches right around, the Museum for Musical Instruments (both never found if located somewhere else), the Conad-Supermarket and the nice restaurants and bakeries around

LatviaIt was hard to get in the backyard and to find the correct staircase (you need staircase E). Also we didn't see any indications or signboard about Grandis Rooms. That's why we called them and got further information about where to go. After a while came employee to met us and we luckily get in the Grandis Rooms. We came early (arround 11:00) and our room unfortunatelly wasn't ready yet, but Grandis room informated us before about it.
