The wi-fi was poor one day, the next day was good, then poor again and so on. There was a TV set, but not a tv signal.

Excellent location. Good breakfast. Quiet room.

Book in time is 1:00 pm. The cleaning ladies decided to do our room at 2:00 pm even though they knew we had been waiting for over an hour Just not good business.

As expected Reasonable for a short stay Good breakfast Close to the train

The room was a bit strange, it was long and very narrow with a window that actually opened into the room of the house on the opposite side of the street, a bit scary experience. Corridors, the lobby, the elevator, - everything is very narrow. The facade and entrance group are currently under renovation, I could hardly find a hotel, there was no sign. The construction workers were having breakfast together with the hotel guests, which was a bit loud for early morning

The location is great, an authentic historical house very close to the Central Station .

The bathroom was a bit small which made it a little uncomfortable to use. The blankets on top of the (clean) sheets had some stains and they didn’t look too clean.

    Lovely staff and great location

Unfortunately, the wifi was really slow and my mobile internet didn’t work because of “no connection” there. Also some renovation would be great but for this price it was a great stay!

The location is great, 10 mins from the railway station. The stuff was very nice and friendly. Also, I really liked the breakfast

The air-con was very loud and didn't come with a proper remote / instructions so it was a little bit of guess work from us. The corridors were very warm in comparison to the rooms as they had no air-con. The lift is very old and small so if there is one other person travelling you have to wait some time.

Location is good - very close to the pedestrian area of the city for tourism. Very close to the port, the main station and also a funicular railway. Breakfast was good, not lots of choice but as it's included, I wasn't expecting much. Nice orange juice machine.

    Diversify the breakfast

Breakfast was ok, but without vegetables. The bathroom was small but I understand that it was in a old pallace like the most of the hotels in Genova. It was an advantage to have a bathroom in room.

The hotel was undergoing renovation/construction and there was noise from the work, but it wasa huge problem.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and espresso offered is a great value. It's well located, an easy walk to the port, old town, the funicular, and bus/metro.a

The air conditioning in the room is a bit old and one in my room had the buttons that was illegible. Had to trial and error to found out how to make it work.

I had to book last minute because my previous booking was canceled. So it was a bit above my usual price range. The hotel has a bit of a 70~80s movie feel which to be fair i felt it was charming. Morning buffet was great and location is close enough to everything from train, bus station and most landmarks. All in all definitely a good experience.

Very small and dark room but we were in the room only for sleeping, so it did not matter that much.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, smiling. Very easy to reach the hotel from the station - 5 min walk. Complimentary water upon arrival in the room. Quiet room. We could check-in and get the keys at 10.30 am - much earlier than 2 p.m. Free orange fresh juice for breakfast.

They gave us a bigger room than the one I booked considering maybe that we have two kids. The breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast. The coffee was great. The staff are approachable and are willing to extend the extra mile. Location is great as it is near to tourist spots. I strongly recommend this hotel. Will definitely come back of given the chance again to visit the wonderful city of Genova🙌.

Rooms are dated , needs serious refurbishment.

The location is great , right in heart of old city , very easy to find and just few min away from seafront promenade ( Aquarium) They have only few rooms with balconies. Our room window was overlooking Piazza Della Nunziata . Breakfast is excellent. Real grated coffee beans for a coffee presentation and unlimited Freshly squeezed orange juice , Parmaham and delicious focaccia. The breakfast staff is Superb and Amazing , very very efficient, Receptionist is also nice . Everyone speak good English. Fridge in the room .Towels fluffy and clean . Free water in the minibar .

The only downside for me was the bathroom area which was a bit corrosive, giving not so clean impression.

Hotel Helvetia is well located with Piazza Principe train station and attractions being minutes away by walking. There are multiple restaurants and bars too. The hotel room we booked is decent in size with neat bed. The staff were also kind to provide water in the fridge to drink. A simple nice gesture for steaming days of our trip. The breakfast set was good with array of choices.

It's not the hotel's fault, but there is a bar close by and I could hear people talking late into the night - happily no blasting music. I used earplugs and this did the trick.

The location of this hotel is excellent - close enough to the train station to walk with bags (about 10 minutes), and right at the edge of both the medieval quarter and the streets with palaces. Also not very far from the port. The staff was very pleasant and the room was cleaned beautifully. It is not a luxury address but perfectly comfortable.

Car parking was not available at the time of our arrival despite we were assured it was reserved by the property. We arrived at 15pm (check-in available from 13pm), and our room was not clean yet. After some complaining we were given another room that was fine anyway. The building, the furniture (mattresses and stuff around the room) is really old fashioned and stinky, though clean. The stairs to reach the upper floor where the rooms are located are really steep and quite dangerous for kids. The elevator, corridors and rooms doors are really narrow, not really accessible if you’re traveling with kids, trolleys and luggages, or wheelchairs. There were a lot of noises coming from the street (cars, ambulances, motorcycles, …), even overnight, not really comfortable for sleeping.

Great position in the city, close to all the most noticeable attractions. The staff was professional and gentle, wishful to find solutions. Breakfast ok.
