Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPetty but I didn't like the hair dryer in the room. I've never seen anything like it. It had a unit that was on the wall with a hose attached like a vacuum cleaner and it was ancient (?) I think, but it worked!
We loved the location. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was a nice break from being in Rome because it was NOT crowded. There were no other tourists so we pretty much had the location to ourselves. I liked the shower/bath combo, because most places we stayed had a shower small enough for a 2 x 4 board and this place had the combo which gave more room while bathing. We stayed at a big name hotel in Rome just before this location and we were a bit apprehensive as we parked on the street and went in, but after the reception person showed us the room and where breakfast is, and the restaurant, we were feeling more comfortable. The elevator will fit two suitcases and one person--it's small but it works! We slept well on the bed. The room has shutters inside that you can open/close. No screens but no bugs either. The window we had looked out to the main street but it was so quiet at night so we could leave the windows open. Breakfast in the morning consisted of a LOT of different foods, so you won't go hungry. Cappuccino or Americano too. It helps to have a translator on your phone or be able to speak a bit of Italian because most people we met did not speak English. There was an adorable gift shop just down the street from our room and the woman in the shop was so nice, speaking no English, but we had so much fun trying to figure out what each other was saying. There was also a little deli just a door or two away from the gift shop and the family was great. Their store is packed with anything you need for lunch or a snack. The restaurant at this hotel's location is absolutely AMAZING, service was spectacular, the food was so good, better than what we found in most of Rome. There is another restaurant/bar being redecorated just next door to this hotel and it looks so beautiful inside.

ItalyThe staff were good but a little less welcoming/enthusiastic. The rooms are ok size, not very huge.**The temperature control of the room is not in our hands**.. it was really hot for ours when I arrived... but I was told that as it is a centralised AC, it can't be switched on. Thankfully, the weather cooled off after a heavy downpour. The wifi also never connected, which was a major disappointment. Lastly, the balconies of my floor were all connected without any partitions, for all rooms... which lacked privacy, and even though I wanted to keep the door open to circulate the air in the room, I couldn't do it for long... (The ventilator door was very weakly locked ) There was also a noise present in the day and at night due to a vent in my balcony(they informed me about the daytime noise, but it was present for a long.. time)(bearable) Few things - Given that it is a 4 star hotel 1)Temperature control of the room should be in our control 2)Wifi is one of the basic needs -Wifi password-ID and other details should be informed to the guest on their arrival and also in some form in the room(also about mini fridge and its charges to choose from the stuff) 3)A number to call reception if anything was required(it wasn't there, so I had to go downstairs) 4) Partition in the balconies for privacy. 5) closes by midnight.. the main building can be open for guests who would like to enjoy the nightlife with friends or come back from a nearby trip(just a suggestion).
The hotel was very near to the public transport stop, it was also a stone throw away from the city center. It had the basic amenities, and there was a beautiful park and coffee shop around it. The dining hall was impressive, and the breakfast was ok, too. The asthetics of the building were overally very beautiful .

Motorbike parking really „next door“; the bar keeper for the breakfast bar was really nice, on the 2nd day he brought the second cappuccino to my wife without request the dinner in the own restaurant was really great

FranceThe bathroom was old and the handles were difficult to manage. We had an odd experience with the front desk staff at first, we felt like we were bothering. It was better afterwards but a bit awkward at first. The fridge in our room wasn’t set at the right temperature (not cold enough).
The location is perfect, you are right next to the station. The breakfast was delicious and had different choices. The bed was comfortable and we were at the top floor which gave us a beautiful view of the town and mountains.

United StatesWe were promised 3 rooms with terrace. We got one room with terrace, and one on the floor below. The room with the terrace was nice but quite small. we tried to cancel one room as one of our group was too ill to travel, but we ended up paying for all 3 rooms. They did allow our driver to stay in the 3rd room our last night there so we could leave earlier in the day. Our main complaint was that they turned off the air conditioning during the night, and the room on the top floor was very hot. The hotel director seemed grumpy most of the time.
Breakfast was excellent, location was perfect, hotel common areas were lovely, most of the staff was excellent and friendly. Rooms were nice. Hotel was very quiet. Beds were good.
