Amazing experience to stay in a cave with all of the facilities you needed. The location is superb- overlooking Piazza San Pietro and the Sassi Caveoso. It was a delight to eat breakfast on our terrace with that view. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Check in at noon was a bonus. Hosts were terrific and very helpful with info about the town. Matera is truly a wonder. Take a guided tour to understand the complex and fascinating history.

First and foremost I liked the location and the view in front of our room, which is stunning both during the day with the church and the hill full of old houses and during the night when you see all the houses lit up on the hill. The room was also nice and spacious, nicely decorated and part of it was cave. The breakfast was good and generous, taken at the table in front of the room.

EVERYTHING!! The location in the Sassi is excellent and easily accessible on the Sassi line bus from the Via Saragat carpark. We loved our cave house apartment - incredibly comfortable and spacious (the attached picture is only of the sleeping area - the room also had a large lounge and kitchenette area). The views from the rooms are spectacular and the perfect backdrop for the magnificent breakfast served on the terrace. Dominic, Tiziana and Luka were fantastic hosts. No request was a problem, and they were wonderful to help us with our luggage. Heaps of wonderful places to eat and drink. You will not regret staying here.

There is absolutely nothing to not like...my entire stay was wonderful.

What an amazing location. The cave rooms are incredibly detailed yet historic. The family who owned this property for generations are amazing hosts. There is so much to see right in this radius. I will be back. Everyone should stay here. The views from the rooms and terrace are beyond words. Thank you, I enjoyed my time in Matera immensely and your property made it more enriching. Had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Renovated cave room in a truly remarkable location. The views are spectacular. We loved enjoying a bottle of wine on the terrace very much. Wish we stayed a third night! Lots of amazing restaurants nearby. Will absolutely recommend friends and family to stay here.

This is a very personal choice but the only thing I had a problem with was the soft bed. I have a bad back and found the bed way too soft and I moved to the sofa! My husband had no issues with the bed.

Absolutely amazing property in the shadow of the main rock church in the Sassi and overlooking the town, ravine and rock church park. The room is huge and has everything you could need; it is built into the rock face with a barrel roof and rock walls. Tasteful decor and well equipped kitchen and minibar. There is a terrace with chairs & table perfect for a drink while watching Matera wind down at night. Close to restaurants. Fantastic breakfast and staff. Super friendly and helpful. I’d say this is the best located accommodation in the Sassi.

Such a beautiful B&B. Great room, cozy bed, good shower, delicious breakfast with a view. The owners even helped us find accommodation for a second night unexpectedly (they were fully booked). I’d definitely stay there again

It was all perfect.

Perfectly located with astounding views of both the city and the sassi. Built mainly in the rock giving it bags of character and keeping it cool. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent, even fresh figs picked from the tree as we watched. Tiziana & Domenico were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a beautiful view of the city and the cathedral tower, the bed was comfortable, good Wi-Fi, usb ports, good shower and a little terrace.

Whilst not that serious, we found the bed linen and pillows not up to standard. Pillows are too hard. Bed linen is too flimsy. There should be some shelves in the bathroom above the toilet seat. And, sadly not tissue paper is provided.

This must be one of best locations in Matera! Just 4 rooms run by a most charming family. They will do all to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is sereved right outside your room whilst you enjoy the sight of Matera and the Cathedral below your room! Magical. Inside your "cave" which was really a very large well appointed room you will sleep like a bear - the most quiet room we ever had. Best of all, the bus from Saragat Parking stops just down a few steps from your room. At the same bus stop you can also take a bus which will bring you to the other side of the gorge to look over at Matera for the grand view. (and avoid the 200 meter down and 200 meter up hike to cross the gorge over the Tibetan bridge). We can highly recommend this place. Book early they only have four rooms.

Located in front of the church of St Paul. The position is magnificent to explore the city and reach all the nice bar and restaurants. The owners are very charming couple, very accommodating and helping. The breakfast is more than sufficient with some delicious fruits from the garden.

Wow. This place is a hidden gem. perfect location within the caves of Sassi with breathtaking views of Matera and the Duomo. The staff was so kind and friendly and helped us make reservations and gave us lots of advice. Also one of the best breakfast experiences we’ve had in Southern Italy! Very professional and personal service with top quality pastries, cheeses, breads, juice, and a big fantastic cappuccino! Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to stay if you visit Matera. Our host, along with the rest of the family , ensured we had a comfortable stay. I recommend this place to anyone who comes to visit Matera. We stayed two nights but wished we had stayed a little longer. Extremely comfortable beds and exceptional breakfast.
