Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaFantastic, that's what i can say about the stay in la pergoletta. I would like to think everyone we met there and who tried to make us feel at home especially the lady with her beautiful smile in the morning at the breakfast. So calm, clean and spacious room where you can enjoy your vacation. Thanks to everyone .

Family run hotel who couldn't do enough for us and made us so welcome. They helped us plan our trips, met us with a smile at all times and could answer all our questions/requests.They, provided a fresh excellent breakfast including home made cakes, delicious! Lovely pool and sun bed area. Everywhere so clean, a small traditional quaint hotel in an ideal location. Shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and only short bus ride into Sorrento.. Lovely comfortable bedroom. with AC.. Thank you we had an amazing holiday based here, Highly recommend.

United KingdomI would have preferred to have been able to select my own food rather than being served from a buffet. Some Fresh fruit would have been wonderful The boiled eggs, tea and coffee were lovely. Soya milk should be available as an option with so many allergies today.

United KingdomMattresses, we just ask for a couple of extra blankets and popped them under the sheets and all was good.
Our stay at La Pergoletta Hotel was just brilliant! After a long journey to get there my first impression was just ok but within a short time I knew we had found a gem!! The staff have limited English ( but enough to sort and resolve any enquiry with efficiency ) this made everything more authentically Italian!!! We had dinner in the hotel on the first 2 night before we ventured into Sant Agata. Our meals were delicious and the staff brought little dishes for us to try… a great experience. The hotel was the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The small pool area was perfect for rest days. Sant Agata is about 20mins by bus from Sorrento and the bus stop us just outside the hotel. Superb value for money! If you want an true Italian experience come here but embrace their sincerity and don’t expect an American breakfast in the middle of the Amalfi Coast…. Go for it!

United KingdomBed was not comfortable for us. Buses not always reliable to go into Sorrento and too far to walk. Did not use taxis as seemed very expensive.
Very friendly hotel and very polite staff. Good service. Just a 10 minute walk from st Agata town which had lots of restaurants/bars. Bus stop outside hotel.

United KingdomThe buses went into sorrento from sant agata which is a 5-10 minute walk up the hill. The pool was lovely and always quiet. The room was cleaned daily and had a lovely view of sorrento and Vesuvius. Would recommend staying in this location where hotel rates are cheaper compared to sorrento. Transport is regular to get there and only takes about 25 minutes on a bus. The taxis are extortionate so don’t take this option!

IrelandI was sad going home.
I liked the fantastic views of the sea and countryside from our Balcony. The housekeeping was everyday so the bedroom was so clean. The fresh breakfasts and evening meals were delicious. The family running the hotel were so professional and friendly. The swimming pool was clean and super cool and most days we had it to ourselves. Umbrellas and sun beds were freely available around the pool. We were away from the main tourist districts so we could relax in the evenings or visit the local italian town of St Agata just a short walk away for shops, bars and restaurants. There was a bus stop outside the door of La Pergoletta Hotel where buses ran to SORRENTO, AMALFI and Positano. The mountain air was fresh and there was a cool breeze. A free car park was on site. Air conditioning was available. It was good value for money. There was a nice atmosphere.
