How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It is a little hard to reach, but the staff picks you up at a meeting point.
It is a beautiful renovated property, stylish and comfortable.

Air conditioning was noisy
Breakfast was a highlight. Relaxed in the pool on a hot day with a Campari spritz. Bliss!!

Hotel is located at the very top of Ostuni, where there are less tourists (comppared to the plaza where Comune Di Ostuni is located). when yo uwalk around the closest area it is quite calm (unless it is dinner time) Delicious breakfast with some of the best cakes I have ever eaten. Parking available for the guests with parking transfer was great fun. There was no problem to leave the luggage after check out with the hotel for the last walk. Superb hotel, would recommend it!

The first room we were put in was very beautiful and new but so dark and no window. Luckily they were able to move us.

just a little confusion on how to approach and where to park, but a call to the front desk -actually a WhatsApp message - took care of giving us the details on where to meet for taxi shuttle pickup.
This is a wonderful property on top of hill in Ostuni. views from room were amazing. The staff was fabulous, really top notch from arrival (0pickup via shuttle taxi/ motorbike ) to warm greeting and service throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and airy, with gorgeous views to the oven below. We took advantage of the balconies to get some air and take in the view of the surrounding pool and hotel as well as the amazing view to the water. Breakfast was a delicious spread, and the restaurant was excellent with a Michelin star quality lunch and experience. overall highly recommended.

- Parking is additional 18€/day - Breakfast could be further improved with more cooking on demand options (currently only eggs you way with bacon are offered) - Beverage on display in the room seem complimentary but are not in fact (a bit misleading) - Baby crib is a paid option (35€/day) which we found super greedy in a 5 stars hotel. - In room service is additional charge of 15€ with a very limited menu option. Overall beware of the hidden costs.
the room was very comfortable, with a lot of space. friendly staff the accessibility of the hotel is difficult due to Ostuni traffic regulation but the hotel is offering has a complimentary transfer service which is super nice.

A protection from the rain could be added over the entrance of the exterior elevator
The location was excellent. We left very early and we did not have breakfast, however, snacks and water were kindly given to us in small bags

Loved it all.
stunning property in a perfect location. Amazing views and excellent breakfast. Cielo restaurant is fabulous. The front desk staff and restaurant manager were extremely helpful and professional. La Sommita is a welcoming hotel to spend time in while visiting Ostuni.

difficult car access (should simply be reminded a couple of days before arrival by mail). explanations were well hidden in the small print of the reservation. Transfers were well organised.

room small, some staff a bit surly, no regular daily free water, worst was pool - it’s a plunge pool at best not a swimming pool, property felt a little dated, lounge area small no coffee machine - books on shelf about 50 hotel brochures from 2020. health and wellness ‘centre’ is three small rooms.
location at the top of Old town of Ostuni, generally staff service, lift up in motorcart from car park, views out across to sea, excellent massage.

Bed on a platform is a safety hazard for anyone who has to get up at night. The daily rate is very high for what you get.

The dinner was disappointing. Clearly there was an effort to ;provide a gastronomic experience, but it failed in its basic function - to provide sustenance. The menu helpfully indicates which dishes may contain allergic substances, but there were few which were gluten-free.
The location, at the top of the historic white town, is superb, with outstanding views over the surrounding countryside. The staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast is excellent, with an extensive range of offerings.

There is hardly anything you can say to management. The eye to detail is impeccable and any shortcomings - which was not in my case - I'm sure can and will be rectified if they are made aware of.
You know you have been treated well when you come to the end of your holiday and you simply don't want to leave this property. Everything from reception to departure is what hospitality should be about. The staff - at all levels - is friendly and very helpful. The smile on their face say it all. They enjoy their service as much as the client enjoys the stay. Well done Sommità - it is the summit of hospitality.
