Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaIt's very noisy. If someone is staying upstairs (we were staying on the first floor), you can hear every word someone is saying. It was really cold and moist in the room (AC helped in that case). So think of bringing some slippers. Bathroom was dark, noisy, moldy and there was no place to put additional stuff like cosmetics. Also, the heater that is there is not working and barely holds itself on the wall. The bed is extremely hard (at least for us).
The location was really good. About 20 minutes on foot to the train station, very close to main street with all the restaurants and Pisa Tower. There is a shared kitchen with needed amenities if you prefer using it. There is a conditioning system we used for heating.

HungaryThe heater is a bit small for the room size, and might not work during the night, at least we felt it was cold until morning. We used the AC in heating mode instead. The bathroom is quite compact, which was fine for us, but some people may find it a bit uncomfortable. You cannot lock the door from inside, but you can place your luggage in front of it to prevent your kids from wandering out while you sleep.
Suberb location: close to the Leaning Tower, easily accessible from the train station. There's a common kitchen with utensils and electric kettle, useful to prepare our morning coffee. Contactless check-in and access to the property made our stay very convenient.

ItalyThe room was not as expected. Poor finishes, the wardrobe handle was broken, the ceiling bathroom had a bit of condensation spots, there were a bit of water close to the wc, the bed linen had a hole. Luckily the woman who assisted us was kind, she tried to help us in some way. She removed the condensation spots and tried to remove the water next to the wc.
The position was perfect! Very close to the tower

GermanyUnfortunately, I expected more from the photos. The interior is very dated and not appealing. It was fine for one night, but I would not recommend it for a longer stay.
The apartment is spacious. The contactless check-in was uncomplicated and the communication went very well. The location near the Leaning Tower is excellent.

Very good price and super location. I thought I'd be a bit more clean though, but overall a good choice.

RomaniaThe bathroom door was a bit special (not fully closing). There was some mold in the corner of the shower. We didn't receive a cover for the upper bed. The wall with the window was painted in multiple colors (like it was recently renovated and never finished) and that gave the place an unpleasant look.
The property was easy to find and we communicated well with the host (via Whatsapp). It is about a 5-10 minutes walk from the Tower of Pisa, also close to restaurants and cafes. We received the access codes prior to arrival. The beds were comfy and we had fresh towels for all 4 of us. Loved that we had full sized mirrors.

MexicoIt smelled like humidity and even though it seem clean, you could tell the place needs deep clean. Be aware that the bathroom is next door... it's private but you don't have the same privacy as if it were in your room.
It was 8 minutes away from Pisa tower! The staff was extra nice and gave clear instructions of how to enter to the building. They let us leave our luggage and come pick it up later!

United KingdomWe would have really liked to have the bathroom within the room but that’s us being a bit fussy. we also had a minor inconvenience opening the door with our code. We put in the correct code but couldn’t get in on one occasion. A bit concerning but we managed to sort it out in the end. My partner managed to sort it out, but if I was on my own I’m not sure I could have managed it.
We really liked how close it was to the leaning tower, restaurants and shops- very convenient.

United KingdomThe kitchen facilities are shared. We were the only people using the kitchen for most of our stay but some of the facilities would be inadequate for more. There is only one shelf in the fridge. We could only find one teaspoon and there seemed to be a shortage of knives. There is a dishwasher but definitely too little crockery and cutlery to fill it. However, it was impossible to wash up by hand as, although washing up liquid etc was provided, there was no washing up bowl or stopper for the sink. It was noisy in our room when another family had an early breakfast in the kitchen.
This property is very conveniently situated. The staff are friendly and helpful and our room with ensuite shower room was good. We were able to leave our bags before/ after checkin/checkout time at the beginning and end of our stay which we very much appreciated.

United KingdomThe keypad at the front door wasn't working very well and left us out a couple of times. Luckily, the response to sort this out was fast but still inconvenient because I had roaming to text with the host. To access the WiFi, you needed to scan a QR which to access you need Internet so no very convenient if you don't have roaming or for a laptop. Finally, I found the router and looked for the password.
The location is very convenient, and the communication with the host was fluid even though there wasn't a front desk.
