Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location, with ample bars, restaurants, shops, etc. Room was of good size, with very comfortable large bed, and view Of the old town. Also had a breakfast consisting of cereals, bread, ham, cheese, cakes, Coffee, tea and juice. Set you up lovely for your day. Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Luca who recommended Some fabulous restaurants and organised an excursion for me.

United KingdomMore cookery items could be supplied, especially for longer stays. We appreciated the kettle but some coffee making facilities would have been good! WiFi was there but signal poor and it was too slow to stream anything. Breakfast was very bare - no fruit juice, no cappuccino, only a small espresso machine. We had breakfast out most days, which is aways a pleasure in Naples, but as it was included it would have been nice to have some more options served in. I don't think this would suit a long stay, although it has the potential to!
Location was outstanding, right on Spaccanapoli but with an internal view, keeping it quiet. Comfortable apartment with some essentials supplied to eat something in. Staff was very accommodating and always nice. The place was clean and although not fully serviced every day, it still was kept to a nice standard. Mattress was a bit too firm for my taste but I still slept well. The second bedroom was locked when we arrived but I made sure they could open it for us - after all, we did get the two bed apartment for a reason. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

IsraelLocation is not where it was marked on booking.com. If you take a ""larger room"" it is a walk away from the main city. Room was not the size it was said to be. It was supposed to be large and it was 12-15 meters max. None of the photos on booking.com matched the place. We lost our key to the room which was just a cheap magnetic card and they charged us almost an entire nights stay cost just to replace it. This is after being stuck outside for several hours until they answered.
Staff fairly attentive. Very clean. Great internet. Cleaner comes every day.

ItalyI had a single room, which meant I was put into another building some distance away. The old quarter is labyrinthine, and my first night I found it very hard to find my way back to where I was staying. This was a much noisier location, and my first night was almost sleepless. Also, my daughter and son-in-law were rather disappointed that I wasn't in the same building as they. However, this didn't prove to be as much of a problem as it might, since despite calling itself Medea Bed and Breakfast, breakfast isn't served in the hotel. So really it's just Bed. (I've come across this misrepresentation all over Europe, and it's beginning to rankle.) Also, the beautiful bar with it's encouraging display of bottles is not really a bar at all. It's just there for show, so the weary traveller wanting to refresh themselves while waiting for the 'technician' to finish mending the room, will have to make do with coffee or tea out of either of the two respective machines. So no breakfast and no bar. Both are easily obtained in the street, so it's no real inconvenience, but it somehow makes one's stay less relaxing. Naples, as a general rule, does provide the best pizzas in the world - obviously - and sweet food, pastries, etc are generally very good. Most of the food, however, seems to be very rich, fishy fish with extra fish flavouring and an entire salt mine blended in. If they're using sea salt the Mediterranean should be a fresh water lake by now.
The location was excellent for those not staying in a single room (see below). The balcony was beautifully appointed, with lush pot plants and plenty of shade/shelter from rain in the off-season. The room my daughter and family had was extremely quiet for such a busy part of a bustling metropolis. The old building itself was wonderfully atmospheric and nicely furnished. The easy-to-book and surprisingly inexpensive taxi service from the airport was efficient and most welcome.

IrelandIt’s called bed and breakfast, but no breakfast available ( need to be careful I suppose when reading descriptions of properly prior to booking), only coffee can be made by staff, breakfast room looks as not functional at all. We arrived just 19:59 and been charged 15 Eu for delay ( delay charge 15 Eu after 20 hr). Staff member was not so happy about our delay and was rushing even we paid those 15 Eu ( we did not get any receipt, payment was by cash). Beds are pretty hard, pillows lumpy

IsraelNone of the pictures matched the room or the B&B. The room promised had 2 beds but only had 1. The room was said to be 40sqm but it was only about 12-16 meters. The location advertised was completely different from the booking and further away from the main city center. They also charged us 50 euros for a lost magnetic key that cost penny to replace which we found to be reticules.
The room was clean and quite with good AC. The staff in general were quick to respond and tried their best. Good internet speed if you need it for working.

United KingdomLocation is really really good.. Central to a lot of places to eat, places of interest. Centrale Station is about a 25 min walk. The street comes alive at night and looks really pretty with the lights. The room was okay. Really clean with air con but a slight funky smell to it. Took a little while to check in. I arrived late due to flight delay but a taxi had already been organised via the B&B. Thank you to the driver called Mirko constantly calling the B&B. Read the small print (I didnt). Extra charge for checking in outside certain hours.
