Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLift was broken when I was there and breakfast was okay!
Room was super spacious and came with a mini balcony which was nice. Super clean and free breakfast is included. Very convenient location with only 20 mins walk from town. Also a super cute cafe called Amaretta caffe close by and a must try!

DenmarkThe bed is a little hard and the duvet is not so comfortable. The shower room is a little too small. The free breakfast’s quality can be improved.
The location is great, with walking distance to a nice park and public transportation. The room is very clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomDuring our stay, it was clear that the hotel was being renovated, with some areas out of action. We noted this during the walk to our room. The lift was also closed for maintenance, which made our walk a little longer. Currently I think that the property looks a bit dated but the renovation could change this. The room did look fine though. They have old fashioned, heavy room keys instead of chip cards. It isn't necessarily a draw back but it does mean that there is one designated key holder if you stay with others! The bathroom was very small but more importantly, the facilities were good. The room was a bit hot during our stay, with the air con being a little temperamental.
The hotel was good value for money. The rooms were quite basic but they did the job. Location of the hotel is great. It is only 10 minutes away from the Duomo on the train and right next to the last supper museum. We stayed on the second floor and the view from the hotel window was nice. We slept comfortably.

MaltaHowever, my stay was marred by a significant inconvenience: the elevator was out of order for all five days of my visit. Being on the 3rd floor meant tackling 83 steps every time, which could be a challenge for those with mobility issues. Additionally, the hotel's wifi barely worked, so if internet access is crucial for your stay, it's advisable to have your own connection. Pleasant experience.
My stay at Hotel Palazzo Delle Stelline in Milan was fantastic. Its proximity to the city's attractions and train stations made exploring incredibly convenient. The breakfast was delightful, the cleanliness impeccable, and having a small terrace with the room was a lovely bonus. Overall, the offer that I took it was great value for money.

PortugalFor the light sleepers it can be a bit loud. The windows could be dark to allow some privacy.
We liked the hotel architecture and the room was nicely decorated. The view of the garden is also beautiful and the beds are comfortable.

SwitzerlandWe stayed only one night but the elevator was out of service and we had to take three stairs up (which is ok with a small bag but not OK with a big suitcase). It would be a great hotel due to location etc. but needs renovation.
I think it is an OK hotel for a one or two night stay, nothing extraordinary but it meets the requirement of a weekend stay. It has a good location and we had a generous size of the room.

ItalyThe room could have been cleaned better and the furniture should be renewed. The lift is out of service, so many stairs to do by foot. I would suggest to improve the communal areas and make them cosier and tidier.
The position is perfect, cause you are 20 min from Duomo by foot, really close to Cadorna station and the area is safe. There’s a 24h reception and check-out is late. Our room was very spacious and we had a big balcony. For breakfast there is a big buffet and the staff was polite and nice.
