Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIncorrect code was provided to enter the property for self checkin. No one was physically available to permit entry which created a stressful situation. I Eventually contacted staff by phone and was informed they had changed the code-without informing me in advance. We booked a private car service for airport transfer via the hotel. The car was late for the scheduled pick up time. No communication from the hotel staff regarding the delay. Also, the car was not private- it was a minivan with other passengers being taken to the airport. The bathroom had visible mould throughout the shower tiles.
Location View of the ruins from the hotel window.

Romaniavery small room, no extra room if you travel with big luggage and for more than 2-3 days it will be uncomfortable. Breakfast with just a few options and it was served in your room since they don’t have restaurant/cafeteria
located in the heart of Rome, walking distance from every main attraction (i was 5 and a half months pregnant and it was great to have it all close).

United KingdomThe only room with a balcony is small with very little space for any belongings. For more space I would recommend one of the other rooms. The breakfast is very conveniently brought to the room each morning but is not great. I would avoid the croissants and go for the toasted sandwich!
The Pantheon Caesar Relais is in a very convenient location close to the historic sites and also plenty of places to eat. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the coffee machine much appreciated and easy to use! It was a bonus to have a balcony overlooking the historic site of Julius Caesar’s assassination.

United Statesunclear arrival procedures
upon arrival it was very confusing - located in an alley with a large door and a very small sign- you have to ring the bell to get the staff who buzzes you in . the hotel was a few rooms on the 2nd floor -there was an old fashioned elevator with a gate and shaft elevator that was confusing to operate.Despite the elevator you still had steps to get to it and there were very small signs in Italian . once you enter the hotel it was a mere hallway with a small desk, one employee. he was very friendly and helpful. The room was small, clean and functional.Included breakfast was continental and brought to your room in am. I would only recommend this hotel for experienced foreign travelers who don’t mind inconveniences .

United StatesBreakfast is dry stale croissants - I'd skip it and go to the pastry shop just downstairs instead (they should partner with the hotel!). Bed is round so it's actually really weird to sleep on: I think a normal bed wouldn't fit in the room so that's why. If you're very tall you might not fit with two people! The entryway was VERY hard to find - I've corrected it now on Google so it should be easier, but the sign is very very subtle.
AMAZING location: walking distance to a ton of amazing restaurants, a bunch of really nice fashion stores, and of course the amazing historic buildings in Rome (Pantheon, Forum, etc). Our room had a massive wrap-around balcony overlooking the ruins and we loved standing there and eating pizza during sunset. Really really wonderful place.

United KingdomThe room was slightly small given we had 2 suitcases but not a significant issue at all in the grand scheme of things.
The location was superb, a five minute walk to the Pantheon and within 30 minutes walk of the Colosseum and Vatican either side. Breakfast was very nice with it being delivered to the room in the morning. The view over some ruins was a nice bonus too.
