Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLike a lot of Firenza, street noise can be disturbing. If you want to have a really quiet nights sleep then you will probably need to be outside the central area.
The hotel is within the old family house of the Pitti family, predating the Pitti Place which overlooks it from across the square. It is in easy walking distance of all of the sites in Firenza. We stayed for 4 nights. We arrived on foot walking from the Unita tram stop (T2 tram from the airport). This gave us a great introduction to the streets of Firenza. We has a suite which was behind the breakfast room with windows overlooking a side road. The bedroom was huge as were the sitting room and bathroom. The decoration was sympathetic to the original house with many features retained, such as the painted ceilings. The bathroom was modern with very large shower. There was a coffee machine and more importantly, for tea drinkers, a kettle in the room. The staff / managers were very helpful and friendly and recommended a very good local restaurant 2 minutes walk away by the Santo Spirito Plaza. (We ate there 2 nights). We had breakfast included and there was an excelled continental choice with cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses. Enough to keep us going though most of the day. The chocolates on the reception desk were excellent! There is a small lift (2 people or 1 person plus luggage).

AustraliaNothing... this place is amazing
The room was extraordinary. I have so few words to describe the beautiful frescoes, the fantastic spa bath with fancy lights and the view of Pitti Palace from our room. Did I mention the beds? So comfortable and warm. We ordered the Italian breakfast the first morning - it was beyond any breakfast I could have expected. Pancakes, yoghurt, bread with fresh marmalade, capuccinos, brownies and italian cakes, raspberries and blueberries, selection of fruit, blood orange juice from Sicily, croissants ... honestly... order this.

CanadaNot a problem for our family but good to know that all bathrooms are accessed through the main bedroom.
Great location with lots of good restaurants near by. Easy walk to many points of interest. Peaceful at night and the windows do a great job of keeping out daytime noise. Charming little fireplace with candles in the main bedroom was a lovely touch for November evenings. The beds were all super comfy!

CyprusOk, now for the not so good. What ruined the otherwise great experience and resulted in the rating of 8 instead of 10 was the absence of any sound proofing. I understand it's an old building, but hey, I suppose even in an old building you can throw a carpet or two on the wooden floors? And explain the situation to the guests and ask them to refrain from reenacting buffalo stampede scenes at 1am. Warn them that the floors are wooden and the sound carries. It was awful. I couldn't sleep, and any positive emotions after an amazing spa session were totally gone by the 3rd hour of the noise - which restarted again at 6am. There is a lot of noise from the street as well, but this being a central location is not the fault of the residence, and we knew what we were getting into. Nothing, however, could have prepared us for the lack of soundproofing inside the property. Beware that the elevator is super tiny, one person with a suitcase is snug, anything more and it's a no go. Again, old property, completely understandable and actually it's great they have an elevator at all. Some other apartments we stayed in centrally didn't have one - that was much worse. The wardrobe smells really strongly of moth balls, we could not bear to even open it, let alone place our clothes on hangers there. We opened it, cringed, shut it immediately, laughed and forgot about it. The noise was really the only (huge) issue, otherwise I would have wholeheartedly recommended this property. Maybe we will give it a try again, to see if our suggestion of thick carpet in the 2nd floor rooms was listened to :^) If you are not a light sleeper - book the luxury apartment, and thank me later!
Starting with the great - location is unbeatable. Right opposite the Pitti Palace. However, you only get the view from a handful of rooms. Ours faced a back street which was fine. It's close to everywhere and super convenient. The apartment we had was amazing - massive, with a separate sitting room and dining room, as well as main bathroom, guest toilet and a spa! That was the highlight. Jacuzzi bath big enough for two, and a sauna. Just what these two tired tourists needed after a day of sightseeing and shopping. It's an actual old palazzo so it came complete with frescoes and other pretty fixtures and elements. All the amenities, bathroom goodies and kitchen/minibar supplies were great. The bed was very comfortable, the mattress hard enough. One of the best things - Nespresso machine!!! The staff were great, friendly and helpful. Reception hours are a little random, few hours in the morning and few in the afternoon, but we were told of that beforehand and the fact that we showed up during the break in working hours and had nowhere to go was on us, and has not affected the rating I gave, despite the fact that it would have been nice to have a toilet facility while waiting for the check in time.
