Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe small hotel is built inside an old apartment building. They created multiple rooms in one old apartment. Some of the walls/doors are not well isolated against noise, so we woke up sometimes when other guests were arriving or departing.
The friendliness of the staff is exemplary. Our host Giuseppe was helpful throughout our stay in Rome. Always available for questions and coming up with great suggestions and solutions. Also, the location of this small hotel is just perfect. Right in the heart of the Monti neighbourhood. With the Coloseum at very short walking distance. We did most of our explorations on foot, and one day, we rented a bicycle, which is a great way to reach some highlights that are further away from Monti. The hotel is situated at a cute square with multiple bars and restaurants available for breakfast, lunch, aperitivo, and dinner. We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this location.

GermanyThe room itself as well as the building were amazing. Further the environment is fabulous. Right next to it is a wonderful little piazza with a romantic fountain surrounded by some nice breakfast spots and bars (no worries, the windows are super insulated, you don’t hear a thing in the room). Colosseum is like 5 min away, and trevi fountain 10-15 min walk. Although some coins think it’s super touristic, it isn’t there a nice little hidden paths with wonderful restaurants and bars (I barely saw there tourists besides me 😉😅). If you are coming from the train station termini, it is a walking distance from 15-20min, and if you aren’t into walking, around the corner is directly a station. Last but not least, the host is super nice, really helpful and always within minutes reachable. I totally recommend this place 🤩 My mother and I had a wonderful time.

IndiaSince the area is in a bustling neighborhood it can get noisy at night in case you are a light sleeper. But works fine if you keep the windows closed. Not a negative but something to consider if you want a quiet area.
Close to colosseum (10 mins walking) Close to the metro and termini Great neighborhood Clean rooms Easy check in Great care from staff and host Bustling neighborhood with eateries and shops Definitely recommend

The room was great! It's spacious, comfortable, and clean, and it was so easy to find the building. Giuseppe was awesome - he was always available if I had a question or needed help, provided recommendations for the area, and gave very clear check in instructions. But the best part of the stay is the location! There is a really good cafe literally next door, it's about a 3 minute walk to the metro, and there are so many amazing restaurants and shops nearby. The best part though is when you step outside, you can see the Colosseum up the street and are less than a 10 minute walk away. The location is unbeatable! Highly recommend!

United StatesThe only problem was it needed blackout curtains. The sun was coming in around 5:30am and blackout curtains would have helped.
Amazing location right in the center of Rome with good access to public transport. Giuseppe was very nice and helpful. It had AC and was very clean.

The property was amazing. It was exactly what we were looking for. Location was great, couldn’t ask for better. Right next to the subway station to get the airport (or anywhere). Also jsut down the street to see the colloseium. From there we didn’t Hop and Hop Off tour to get around. Right in front the of the hotel is a square full of restaurants and wine bar. Quiet and clean. The host was most helpful with restaurants and how to navigate the city. Would come back!

LuxembourgWe wanted to add another night, but unfortunately there were no rooms left anymore.
The studio was very tastefully arranged in a well-maintained building. Double-glazed windows where you could open the window if you wanted some fresh air. Coffee machine with some espressos. The owner asked us what time we'd be arriving and kindly welcomed us with a list of good places to eat. A 5-minute walk from the Colosseum. We would definitely recommend this place.

United KingdomSome noise from around the building (music and running water) I'd recommend ear plugs and an eye mask as the room is bright during the night from street lights. Room was a bit small (size obviously stated on booking.com so I can't complain) Not much hanging space for longer items of clothing. Blinds or some kind of voile on the window would have been good as the room was directly overlooking the square /fountain (lots of people can easily see you in the window above)
Great location, just 1km from the Coliseum and within easy walking distance of all the other tourist attractions in the city. Nice little restaurants close by and even directly outside. The building felt really secure. Very comfy bed and pillows. Nice that it overlooks a fountain (this has plus and minus points) Loved the beamed ceiling and some pretty features in the room. Nice coffee from the machine. Loved the Monti area of the city.

United KingdomAlthough the windows did a great job with the sound installation, unfortunately it wasn’t the same within the building. I kept waking up in the middle of the night because of people banging toilet seats.
Great location. Walking distance to many sights. Small but clean room. Friendly staff. Plenty of places to eat near by.

The host was very communicative, sending us a video on how to check-in ourselves as our flight landed very late at night. He was also quick to send us GREAT recommendations for food and drink and was there for us for anything we needed. The place was very clean and very central, a few minutes away from the Colosseum and many vintage shops and above a great little spot for coffee and breakfast. Whilst is is in a central location, the soundproofing was amazing and we were not at all affected by the sounds of the city below. Also, a lovely cleaning lady would come into our room every day to clean and tidy up. Overall a great experience.

United KingdomYou can sometimes smell the drains in the bathroom, but it is a very old historic building and this is to be expected. Otherwise a perfect place without any flaws.
Amazing location in the heart of one of the best districts in Rome and a stones throw from the Coliseum. Giuseppe was an amazing host with lots of good recommendations on where to eat. Check in and out was very easy.
