We loved everything about the property and it was exactly what we were after. However, please note that if you don’t have a hire car the property is a good 20mins outside Siena and there as isn’t any shops or things to visit within walking distance. For us this was perfect as we wanted to completely relax and just soak up the Tuscan hills and use the spa facilities. This can make things costly when it comes to food and drink however, so come prepared for this. Additionally the spa pool tiles could use a little tlc and the spa showers needed a little extra pressure.

We had an incredible stay! 10/10 would recommend if you want a cute, authentic and beautiful Tuscan spa stay. The residence has an incredible story behind it & being walked through the property by the director was a great touch. The staff were accommodating and friendly and the chef Francesca delivers authentic, healthy and hands down some of best food we had through out Italy. The views from the villa are spectacular. From the pool it’s like looking at postcard- booking.com photos don’t do it justice. The rooms are beautiful and cosy and we received an upgrade which really took our stay to the next level. The breakfast / dinner rooms are stunning with warmer days being hosted outside by candle light. We specifically booked this place for the spa and massage facilities and although it’s $$ we felt it was worth it.

The spa was noisy so it was difficult to relax. Putting some relaxing music would have been better.. One of the two beds is a couch-bed, not very comfortable. In a room for 4 people there were only two chairs and a small couch. The TV is not a smart tv. A breakfast cake was not cooked enough, but the cook told me to eat it like it is.

The road to get there is narrow and you may have difficulty if you find another car coming from the opposite direction.

Even if it is a bit secluded, it is worth the stay. An amazing place, rich in history and with an amazing view. The staff is friendly, and professional and makes your stay enjoyable and personalized. From the way they welcome you, the way they talk care of you and also cook for you is simply amazing.

Nothing bad to say

It was an absolute wonderful experience. I booked on the same day, got an immediate reply from Fabricio, the manager. He is a very professional, nice and easy going person. He cared a lot for every guest and tried to make your stay as good as possible. Also the other hotel staff was very friendly and made everything possible. The whole compound is beautiful and feels like the Chianti experience how you’d imagine it to be. My room was big, had a nice view and was equipped with everything you need. On the whole compound you can feel the love for detail with the furniture, the food, the plants, etc. The food (tried breakfast and dinner) is fantastic. I‘ve been to many good hotels but this breakfast is outstanding. Also the dinner was really well made Italian food. Tried several restaurants but the one in the hotel was the best. Please try and have this lovely experience for yourself and loved-ones. Thanks to Fabrizio and his staff for making this a special trip.

This was the most expensive stop during our round-trip of Tuscany. For this high fee, we would have expected some things to be better/different: - This was the only location where ordering a sunny side up egg came with an extra charge of EUR 6. For this fee, that should be included in the price; - The hotel room came with a jacuzzi, but the water temperature was not high enough. We needed to add water from the water boiler to bring it to comfortable temperature; - For a relais of this price level you would not expect to smell weed damps from some members of personnel throughout the day. To respond to the resort response: - It is not the fact that the surcharge at breakfast came as a surprise. It is the fact that the surcharge exists at all, given the high rate for the hotel room - When the water in the jacuzzi was cold we dropped by at the hotel office, but that was closed in the evening.

Relais is nicely located with exceptional views on the surroundings including Siena. Some of the to-go-to places in Tuscany are located within driving distance near the resort. It is a place where you can truly relax.

there was no running water or bathrooms for 12 hours. it seemed like a common situation based on the staff reaction. there is a negative tone to the gm of the hotel. almost aggressive.
