How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location close to many restaurants and amenities. Loved the Trastevere area just across the river from busier Rome, though within walking distance.

it was a perfect stay ! Our host Giuseppe was wonderful … very helpful and even paid for Our taxi when we arrived because we didn’t have any euro’s!! We will definitely stay again here or at another one of Giuseppe’s properties!!!

There was nothing wrong with the hotel or the room. However, as someone who uses the kitchen when travelling, it would be nice if there was a toaster, a kitchen bin and a proper knife. I would have also loved a couple of extra pillows.
Beautiful place, perfect location. Giuseppe and Jenny are the perfect hosts. Big room, super comfy bed and pillows and very quiet at night. We LOVED our stay and would definitely come back in the future.

Photos were a bit misleading- I thought I was booking a room with the terrace and jacuzzi so make sure to check which room you’re actually booking.

Wifi wasn't always at full bars. No elevator (not a problem for us but may be for those with mobility limitations).
Perfect location in Trastevere! Located on a quiet street, but right around the corner from the restaurant, bars, shops. We stayed in the double room - the bed is exceptionally comfortable. Shower quickly gets hot with good water pressure. Very clean and large room that had everything we needed including kitchenette and small desk. The hosts have a wonderful list of local restaurants that were delicious and not touristy!

But if a stressful check-in and check-out process, this is only because there’s no full-time reception/concierge, so you have to coordinate it with the host a little more than normal. But it was fine and Giuseppe was lovely and helpful.

Great location for Trastevere, very close to everything to see in the neighborhood, but in a quieter area for sleeping without being bothered by all the noise. Lots of room with access to the rooftop which was special.

We booked the rooftop apartment with private terrace and hot tub. The apartment is extremely spacious with a very large bedroom and super comfy bed. The bathroom is also spacious with a great shower. There is a separate living room with lift to the rooftop. The sunny rooftop is fantastic with sun loungers and a great hot tub, ideal for a soak after a day out exploring. The apartment is in a great location in Trastevere, close enough to everything but located on a quiet street so nice and quiet at night time. Communication with Giuseppe and Jennie was excellent, always on hand to give recommendations and answer questions. The apartment really made our trip to Rome perfect! Looking forward to our next stay.

The room could possibly need a touch up but nothing much worth mentioning.
The room was lovely. The charming building is located in a quiet street even though it is right next to everything you might need. Warm room, comfortable bed, spacious shower. The staff was always available to answer questions.

It's a small bed, ok for me, but not so good if you are 6 ft tall

The curtain was a bit small for the size of the window so it still let light in.
We stayed for 2 nights at Residenza del Cedro. The location was superb, very close to the shops and restaurants however in a really quiet area. The room was clean and quite spacious. Special thanks goes to Jenny who took very good care of us and attended to everything we needed. Highly recommended.

I think having better signage to show the hotel would have been useful and the stairs weren't the easiest to navigate especially with a child.
It was quiet so good for a family. The hosts were available for support and provided lots of useful information as well as facilitating a later checkout. The room was clean, the shower pressure was great. The WiFi was good and allowed streaming. The TV had Netflix, Prime and Youtube. The host Jenny also went out of her way to come and find us after we were slightly stranded by the taxi driver on the journey in.

We didn’t have any issues with the location or the property.
Excellent location, clean, and wonderful host. A 20-30 walk to all the major attractions, but only a few minutes away from some amazing restaurants. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable and our suit had access to the roof top balcony that had its own hot tub, bathroom and shower. Amazing location with a most gracious host!!
